Simple M6 questions

A got a couple random questions for you guys.

1. What is a throwout bearing? Is it a wear item like a clutch?
2. Can you or should you resuface the clutch side of your pressure plate like your flywheel?
3. How does the tranny mount fit on an M6, anyone with pics?
4. What does a "worn clutch" look like?

Thanks.

1. its the bearing you will hear when the clutch goes in. when my buddies went, you could hear it squeek everytime he went to shift. They go after a while, nothing to get worked up about.

2. You CAN resurface a clutch, thats all i know though. i dont know how well it works, cost or anything like that though

3. nope, but just search altavista's or google's images. sure you can find one.

4. a worn clutch will be smooth. My other friend missed a down shift- went 5-2 instead of 5-4. luckily his clutch sucked and it broke before the R's could get up. it was smooth like glass. That is an extreme, but it will be smoother. it will look worn. kinda hard to explain.
here is a pic though

hope this helps

Pimp dog Matt: Normally you replace the pressure plate when you install a new clutch. A worn clutch will have a "glazed" kind of look to it. I'm sending you a pick of a TOB. The TOB's job it to supply the clutch fork a place to pull/disengage the PP by pulling the pressure plate up/off the clutch disc(s). (LS1s use a push-type PP).

HTH!
