Well it depends on how well the homemade one is,the SLP will probably gain the most hp but a well made one will gain almost as much and be much cheaper.A home made CAI is great for someone who is on a budget.

Well when i bought my car used it already had the F-1 camaro kit on it which includes a polished version of the SLP CAI.But i know from what i have seen on this board and in magazines it is one of the best mods you can do and is where most guys start.

I absolute love the SLP CAI, the looks and gains from it are the best if not at the top of the CAI line IMO...
