Clutch hooped after less than 20,000km... comments please
Details are still a little shaky, as I'm in the UK, but my car is back home and apparently the clutch is toast.
It was a SPEC Stage 3 Kevlar. It was alright as far as I could tell, although a little hard to get used to (it would make weird vibrations and noises when it got hot from being slipped to much).
I'm running no big power, just intake and exhaust. And have had the clutch a little more than a year.
I remember there being known issues with the kevlar clutches and vaguely remember it mentioned that they were redesigned or the ceramic was recomended.
Do I have a leg to stand on with the company? That clutch should NOT have given up.... and I really don't feel I should be responsible for the costs to fix it. Now, is it even worth my effort to try and talk to SPEC?
If not, anyone know where I can get a cheap clutch?
Thanks,
Dave
