Id guess 35-3600. Been meaning to put it on the 4 corner scales at work (more to see how twisted up it is). CoryM taner 03-09-2003, 07:46 PM thanks, there is a 355 in the car, plus i have a ton of stereo in the trunk. so with me in the car i have a pretty good idea of what it weighs. ahotrod79 03-09-2003, 08:35 PM My 79 with a small block 406 fiberglass hood, 4pt cage and complete interior in it weighs just over 3600lbs taner 03-09-2003, 09:20 PM is that with you in the vehicle? thanks taner ahotrod79 03-09-2003, 11:12 PM nope just the car. Lowend 03-10-2003, 05:42 PM If that car is stock you are probably looking at 3900LBS wet Late 2nd gens are heavy talos 03-10-2003, 06:49 PM check it out at www.nastyz28.com it says 3600, but who knows. Erik 03-10-2003, 09:34 PM Is there a commercial weight scale on the highway somewhere near you? If so, you can probably use it. I use the ones in the Vancouver area once in a while, and no one seems to mind. Do you just drive up to it and sit there till they do their thing? or do you have to go in and explain what your doing? taner 03-13-2003, 09:14 PM erik, yes there is one close, can i go there when they are closed???? and where does it read out the weight? thanks Erik 03-13-2003, 09:49 PM The ones here have a huge digital readout near the scale (you can read it while driving past the scale on the highway). I just drive on any time I feel like, open or closed, day or night. You don't need to see anyone. If it doesn't have a readout and you have to go inside to talk to someone, you might as well stop in and ask if they'll let you on. There's no harm in asking :) Dirt Reynolds 03-13-2003, 09:54 PM Yep, just drive right off the highway and right onto the scale. Even if the place is closed, it will still read out your cars' weight off the digital readout. You'll see it when you drive over the scale. I've done this many times myself, usually late at night. I don't think the DOT really cares if you weigh your car or not. Dave Charles9c1 03-13-2003, 11:03 PM I read somewhere 3550! LMAO splitting the difference. I figure 3600. I'd be surprised at 3900. Dave I think our Caprices weighed 4100 pounds! | ||
