Just another sad observation on the state of the f-body...

My kid got his liscense suspended so I've been religated to driving him to school until he gets it back. We live in a fairly afluent area, and parents are known to buy their kids nice new cars for their 16th birthdays. (It sucks not being as "afluent".)

Anyway today I noticed a distrubing fact. As I drove through the senior-student's parking lot after dropping him off, I saw no less than a dozen late-model Mustang GTs (most 2000 or newer)... and not one F-body. (Not even a 3rd gen.)

This disturbs me. :eek:






At least I saw a lone 67 RS Camaro yesterday. :metal:

Personally I'd rather see Mustangs then "souped up" Civics. I went to HS in the Annapolis, MD area and it's just as "afluent". I considered myself lucky to even have a car though. It was a '89 Sundance in decent shape...2.5L 4 banger with Turbo. It was a bit of a sleeper in it's day though!!;)

That's what happens when the average customer base is rooted in the 30s and not in the sub 18 group. Insurence wise, that's hardly a sad state of affairs. It means the few 20 somethings that do buy an F-body aren't reammed as bad as those Mustang buyers, and still end up with a faster car.

However, when you feel bad, take a drive on or around most any military base, federal compound, or police parking lot. :D

Here its mostly Third Gens, then new M*stangs, then the previous syle M*stangs, then 4th Gens, and a few C4's, muscle/sportscar speaking. Not many imports here thankfully.
