digital 6 and knock sensor ?s
ok i had a digital 6 box and sold it, my question is why do i need it? If i run in to Knock wont it automaticly retard the timing????
this would be for 200 shot(forged pistons and loose nitrous rings)
compression will be about 11.1 so wont run it with out race gas
also ive got the lt4 km, so i was wonder if this level was senstive
enough to be safe.

The increased heat/cylinder pressure with a 200 shot of nitrous need's to have less timing.By the time the stock knock sensor picks up something, you can kiss the bottom end goodbye in that situation.
That's why everyone 1 of the Nitrous manufactuer's require timing to be pulled before you spray, too much timing will lead to dangerous amounts of preignition/detonation.
So no,the stock knock sensor and LT4km are not adeqaute.

Exactly what racinlt1 said. However I know of a local club member from the mfba who ran a 200shot on a stock lt1, however he jetted it way rich and ran 110 octane. He said he scanned it and picked up no knock. If you dont know what your doing I wouldn't play around like that, just get a retardable ignition.
