Ok...Stupid Question Time

First off, I am not planning on going too crazy with my car (power-wise).

So, that being said, I was planning for headers (AS&M or LTs, but prolly AS&Ms) and a the Hotcam kit as my next round of mods. Problem is, I havent completely ruled out the idea of a Supercharger eventually either... I dont want to have to do the cam twice, and I have heard talk (but know nothing about) cams specially ground for SC applications.

So my thinking is...People put SCs on bone stock LT1s and see decent gains. The Hotcam is pretty mild, so wouldnt it be OK to use it with a SC?

I realize this isnt the ideal setup for a SC, but like I said, I'm not shooting for a 10 sec car here... I just wanna make sure that by choosing the Hotcam, I'm not completely closing the door to a possible SC in the future.

Thanks!

Put a C305 in your car. Very close to the Hotcam but much better for a SC.

Hmm that would work out well...I was going back and forth between the hotcam and the cc305...guess that solves that!

thanks

suggested cam for my V-6

I hope you don't mind me piggybacking your post for my question, but since you guys are on the subject of cams for a SC I thought I'd ask. I'm waiting to install a Vector/Powedyne SC on my 99' V-6 and I'm thinking about installing a cam as well. I've heard many different opinions about caming a SC'd motor, but obviously it's been done. Any suggestions on what duration is good for my application? I'm waiting to install my forged internals and stiffer valve springs before I put the SC on. Other than that, I've got a Stage II chip, exhaust, and CAI. Nothing really that will be affected by the SC unit. Most of my mods have been removed due to problems with the dealership. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think the CC305 is better than the hotcam b/c of the 114lsa that the 305 has. I beleive the hotcam has a 112lsa. I'm not to sure about that.
