Just guesses would make me happy

Just wondering what kinda times you guys see for me. I run at an 1/8th mile track, but i'd like to know what kind of times I would run with my set up.

Anyone with something similar let me know.

I have a 86 trans am. 383.....desktop dyno says 389/398 hp/tq.
I have a (soon to be)rebuilt 700r4 with a b&m torqmaster 2400 stall. A b&m shift improver kit and a set of gm 3.73 gears with an alburn posi. I run 255/60 15's street tires for now Any kinda idea would help. I just trying to get an idea.

12's depending on how you hook and your skills. even quicker if everything is perfect.....not much quicker, but quicker. :)

now, i know this is really pushing it because it is just guessing, but do you think 12.90's or like 12.20?

really....400/400 gets you high 12s? so like 370 to the wheels should put down solid 13.3's?

well if you figure the average stock LS1 is running a very low 13 or high 12 that should give you a good idea as to what the potential is?

HP#s means nothing if you can't get the car to hook. If you have 389RWHP and the cars hooks you would get around 12.2 or so. On street tires with no traction you would go high 12.8 to 13.0. I have gone to the track to watch and taken my car out and run 13.6 and burn the tires all the way into 3rd gear. I have run other times on a well prepped tracks with my better tires and run 12.9. I have never run the car with slicks because of the weak rearend.
I have had my car on a Mustang dyno and got 304RWHP. Desttop dynos are all over the place with there est. I have had them say I had 375RWHP based on my ET and MPH. Every desktop dyno I have used has allways said I have more RWHP than the real Dynos I have had the car on. One thing to keep in mind is Dyno # don't mean jack on the track. I know guys that there cars dyno # are alittle over 425RWHP. Yet these guys cars are running in the 9. and 10 in the 1/4 mile. The only thing dyno # are good for is bragging rights. The dyno is good for a tuning tool and nothing more. One last thing about dynos. You can get 400RWHP with your car on a dyno and then change converters or transmissions and go to a stick and get way different #. Now it is the same engine but you have changed the way the trans converter locks and the HP # will change. Bottom line again dynos are just a tuning tool. Hope this helps.

I know the desktop dyno isn't going to be right. I just used it as a way to relate what I had to you guys. I know it isn't geting anywhere near that to the wheels(or in my case will not be getting all that to the wheels).

Horse power is not the only thing to worry about. Torque makes our cars move down the track very quick:D
