GM pipe sealant with PTFE ok on ARP head bolts? Also torque SPEC?
I assume that this will be good to put on the threads? This haynes manual im using doesnt list a real torque spec on the head bolts, does anyone know the final torque with a Fel pro 1074??
Thanks everyone!!! Motor is back in !!!!!~~rob

ARP lists specific torque specs with their bolts if using their thread sealer. They also list a torque spec if using motor oil. I would call them up and ask them which you should use with a general pipe sealer.
FWIW, you can get the ARP thread sealer from Jegs or Summit.

I have a box of ARP head bolts right here! Ill just quote it
"PRELOAD TORQUE RECOMMENDATIONS"
"Torque values are based on 75% of the fasteners yield strength. Use the manufacturers torque sequence but do not use the engine manufacturers torque specs. Torque the bolts to 65 ft lbs for the ARP MOLY ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT (or ARP THREAD SEALER) or torque to 85 ft tlbs with 30wt motor oil. "
"Due to the heat expansion rate of ALUMINUM, it is recommended that the torque should be 60 ft lbs with ARP MOLY ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT"
