Abs Unit

Anybody know how to eliminate the ABS unit from the engine
compartment? Are there any different things (parts) that are
needed to take place of abs unit:confused:

The ABS unit has the brakeing systems "Proportioning valve" built into that. Removing the abs unit = no brakeing bias other than what the factory gm master cylinder has.
If one was to run the factory Vacuum\master cylinder without the abs unit you would need to add a "Adjustable Proportoning valve" to the system to control or keep from having too much front braking vers the rear...."Brake bias"
A "Tee" would be needed to split the Front side of the master cylinder circuit output into two lines....one for each caliper.
The rear output runs back and is "Tee'd" above the axle and runs to each caliper.

Stainless Steel Brakes has the "PValves" and if running a line lock I'd get the proportioning valve with the guage. That way you can run a line off it an monitor the brake pressure from inside the car when pumping up the system with a line lock on. Knowing your "Holding Pressure" is a must or you will creep in the lights and get a big red eye!

I follow ya...I have already removed the ABS unit, and was considering the adjustable valve. Now I know I will go with it. Just have to figure out where I want to mount it, in cab or under hood.. In cab would be kinda trick:cool:

Thanks Hawk. Its been a while since we've talk about this
elimination. Motors out and compartment will be sprayed with fresh coat of paint. If I went the adapter route will I need
to buy the Pvalve also?

This adpter allows you to remove the vaccum assist unit and the factory master cylinder assembly.
You will have to run a mopar master cylinder that has the pvalve built into it if you use this adpt plate. That master cylinder is low dollar.

If so I do not need one with a transbrake. Must have Pvalve
though. Rerun some brake line no prob...

Wouldn't you still need a line lock to properly warm up the slicks?

Al your correct, I would still use one just for that reason. Why over heat the rear brakes any more than needed and it also would keep you from loading the Converter and throwing anymore heat into that as well. A trans brake will be hard enough on that bad boy.
