what's the fastest camaro V6 out there...streetable i meanTMDZ28 02-02-2003, 02:58 PM i would like to know what is the true potential of the camaro V6?? it seems fast on the streets.....well my GF would like to buy them....thanks MustangEater82 02-02-2003, 03:16 PM THe fastest 100 % streetable non-juiced guy I would say is Tiago, he has almsot all custom setup but is running a turboed 3.4L tht ran a 13.5, with some tuning, issues, his car ran better at part throttole then full throttle. Either way his car is his daily driver. Shirl's car, is nitrosed and juiced, and its on the stock suspension. 12secondv6, is still running the stock cam I think and he is in the 12. anyways here is hte timeslip page http://timeslips.firebirdv6.com/ JC93Z 02-02-2003, 06:50 PM My car is going to be totally streetable. I am looking for high 9's to low 10's on this current set-up. www.hustonstreetracing.com for the skinny on my car. Of course I am cheating and using a GN motor.... :D TMDZ28 02-02-2003, 09:16 PM Originally posted by JC93Z My car is going to be totally streetable. With cam work... 1fastV6 02-02-2003, 10:18 PM oh my god! there is that timeslips page again. if you really want to know about V6s, i feel these guys will mislead you. you have to go with the facts. yes it is true tiago has a 13.5 turboed 3.4. BUT, he is the only one. yes magnus pulled 13.XX without nitrous. BUT AGAIN he is the only one. impressive times for a V6 fbody, but not everyday times. the fact you have to look at are the essential facts: 200 bhp, heavy cars off the showroom floor, open rear on most, some have 3.08s, 15/16 second cars to begin with. now that is the truth about V6 camaros. i must be the only person on here that sees other V6 camaros on the road and thinks "thats a slow car" dont get me wrong, i think worse of V6 mustangs. but if you want to know how much potential these cars have then i suggest you look at tiagos car as well as magnus's car, 12secv6,camaro_zach, slacker69. oh hell anybody on that timeslips page. Seppo Kaitainen 02-02-2003, 11:01 PM Originally posted by 1fastV6 oh my god! there is that timeslips page again. if you really want to know about V6s, i feel these guys will mislead you. you have to go with the facts. yes it is true tiago has a 13.5 turboed 3.4. Yee of little faith. Yes the 4th gen v6 fbody is slow, compared to the LT1 & LS1. Few have truely committed to achiving fast times w/ their v6's. Heck I've only been to the track twice w/ my v6. In the next yr or 2 you'll see a lot more ppl put down some stellar v6 times. kahouna23 02-02-2003, 11:10 PM The 3.8 in our cars has a lot of potential. Depending on how much money you're willing to put into it of course. I ran a 14.3 and my car is a daily driver. Back and forth to work everyday. It's not the fastest by far, but she can hold her own. You win some, and you loose some. That's just "racing". If you're looking for fast......like everyone else will tell you.....just get a V-8. If you're looking for pride in a quick V-6, you better be independantly wealthy or go rob a bank cuz it's not cheap. Gotta pay to play.;) Wolfie 02-02-2003, 11:44 PM mine will be fairly badd ars once i get it back together:D MustangEater82 02-03-2003, 11:40 AM I didn't really mention Magnus's car N/A he did run 13s, but I am not to sure of the everyday streetability of the car. I mean did you here the clip of his car with the cam? Also a guy Joe palermos was running 14 flats, hitting his speed limiter about before the end of the 1/4 mile, he was probable another 13 second v6 f-body that was daily driven, but he got rid of he car before they came out with a way to get rid of a speed limiter. WIth a 3.8L I woudln't expect a huge amount more then 14s with and 100% streetable, if you stay N/A. Silver00 02-04-2003, 04:31 AM my v6 bird just has a cam and converter and exhaust work and i'm in the 12s, hoping to get into 11s now with the tuning I got and the right tires. Silver00 Magnus 02-04-2003, 12:12 PM How does my car not count? I ran 12.3 with only a 100 shot in a VERY streetable setup with full exhaust ON the car just with the cat removed. My car was more streetable back then than it is now. I also drive my car ALL the time. It's very streetable. And as for that cam clip, i mentioned it many times that I popped a vacuum line off for effect. It idles much smoother than that noramlly. There isn't 1 non-streetable car on the timeslips page: http://timeslips.firebirdv6.com Also, to get more in-depth technical information regarding 3.4's and 3.8's check out the tech database and engine section of firebirdv6.com and ask questions to the largest V6 online community be sure to check out firebirdv6's message board. :) 3.8's definately have a lot of potential, it just takes patience and the proper setup. It really doesn't take a lot of $$$ either. In an automatic a simple intake/exhaust/converter/gear will go a long way. To get the most out of it at the track though you'll need a good tire. :) www.firebirdv6.com <-- is where it's at. :) BeekDawg 02-04-2003, 12:34 PM Not one 3800 Maro has ever even dyno'd 200WHP w/o a power adder. Knowing that they are 16x stock it's easy to see why most people aren't that fast. MustangEater82 02-04-2003, 01:26 PM they are more of a high 15 to low 16 stock car... I did pull a 15.8, first time I ran my dad's stck 2000 camaro with 7,000 miles on it. Magnus 02-04-2003, 01:53 PM Both Mike Huff and Tyrunt Rolle dyno'd over 200 rwhp. 3.8's with 3.42's stock are a 15.2-15.3 sec car up here in chicago in good weather. Seen it happen time and time again. With 3.08s they are a 15.5-15.6 sec car. Also, just for kicks I took my car out for lunch and drove around in the snow and slipper roads. It did not burst into a ball of fire nor did I lose control and flip into a ditch. I did not kill any birds or squirrels from polution nor did I have to fill up the tank with 100+ octain every few blocks. Tiago 02-04-2003, 03:46 PM LMFAO...Keith, no offense but you sound like a walking propaganda sign for firebird v6..... damn man lol...... as for streetability, yes I also agree that keith's car is streetable, the definition of streetable may be different for each one, but IMO his car is fine. My car is totally streetable but much slower then keith's lol, its not worth modding to me if I gotta take it off the streets, thats where the fun is :D Magnus 02-04-2003, 04:01 PM I am a proud member of firebirdv6.com and hope other newbies find their way to the site well... I too was once a newbie on a less popular forum.. When I finally found camaroz28.com it became so much easier to sort the fact from the fiction and I also had a much busier message board with a larger member base to search for answers I was looking for. The site I started on had many banned members of this site believe it or not... and it was like I was stuck there.. nobody told me of what was out there, i was blind. It was taboo to mention this sites name. I just don't want newbies to have to go through what I did. I could have been so much further ahead had I found camaroz28 sooner than I did. If nobody spreads the word of firebirdv6.com, how are people supposed to know it exists? ;) MustangEater82 02-04-2003, 05:02 PM You can spread the word of it... Jsut say, www.firebirdv6.com has some useful info as well.... or even jsut post the sites in your sig like I do. You sounded like a infomercial in your earlier post. Lets try not divert off topic anymore. Ed Blown Vert 02-04-2003, 05:42 PM I wished I got my Blown V6 to the track before getting rid of it. Oh well. TheV6Bird 02-04-2003, 07:23 PM The fastest V6 F-car I know of is a 3rd gen. It is not street legal, and races in the NMCA (I think). It was in a past issue of Car Craft. He had a N20 backfire, so there were some flames shooting from under the hood. I think he has a 400+ci engine  Green G0blin 02-05-2003, 01:34 PM my v6 bird just has a cam and converter and exhaust work and i'm in the 12s, hoping to get into 11s now with the tuning I got and the right tires. Silver00 did anyone not read that??? 11's? in a 2000 v6 bird? look at his mods.....hooker long tubes?? and 3600 stall?? hmmmm i dont believe it. JC93Z 02-05-2003, 01:42 PM I was thinking that myself........... Got too....... :bs: Tiago 02-05-2003, 02:33 PM he failed to mention the cammed ls1 he swapped in there ;) must be fun :D 12secondv6 02-06-2003, 03:15 AM I think (and am willing to bet) a 4th gen V6 with the 3800 series 2 engin can get into the 11's on a stock cam. Dyno #'s don't mean that much because I have run 2 14.4's and I only put down 170 rwhp and 200 rwtq. As for nitrous times, all I do is spin :( The future should be VERY interesting. I'm guessing that by the mid summer there will be 3 11secondv6's The question is, who will get there first :) Green G0blin 02-06-2003, 10:53 AM how much nitroius do you shoot 12sec? and how much nitro do they shoot? the other 2? and if he has a cammed LS1...that would be a 5.7...that is not a v6. so he doesnt count..the quest was v6. either a 2.8 3.1 3.4 3.8 12secondv6 02-07-2003, 03:57 AM 100 shot I spun to a 12.49 125 shot I spun to a 12.48 Hmmmm, got traction??? I'll be back to a 100 shot shortly V6Power 02-07-2003, 10:28 AM I wonder how many of those cars are capable of driving in the rain/snow, take turns faster then 10mph. Do they even start in the winter with those tiny drag only batteries? Or how does it drive in the rain/snow with no windshield washer fluid or at night with no headlights? Sucks to just drive around with no radio or speakers. It's a cold floor with no carpet in the winter. Hard to give anyone a ride with no seats, unless one has no social life. Some would call the return path to the trailer a street. I drive with no washer fluid too and that was the dumbest thing I've ever done to the car. I wouldn't call that streetable to stop at a gas station just to wash the winshield so I can keep driving on the street. I wouldn't even call 4.10s highwayable. So who drives the SAME setup they drive at the track EVERYDAY of the year in EVERY CONDITION? Tiago 02-07-2003, 11:44 AM I do, drive my car year round, in snowstorms, rain, you name it....everyday, its the daily driver......... Magnus 02-07-2003, 12:17 PM Damn Dom could you be any more of a moron? I drive my car in the rain/snow and even salt unfortunately... so does tiago and james i'm sure.. Don't hate just because your car with 4.10's can't even hit a 14.7 How can you call driving without washer fluid not streetable? That has to be one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. You must have more tranny problems too if your 4.10's aren't highway worthy. Both Zach and I have 4.10's and we cruise on the highway all the time... You don't see our cars blowing up or burning trannies do you? If you can drive your car 120 miles to the track, then race AS IS and then 120 miles back wihtout filling up with gas every 60 miles, i consider that pretty damn STREET able.. I mean hell, how can you NOT consider driving 120 miles on the STREET being STREETable? I don't know about you but I take highways to get to the drag strip. Perhaps you take a bunch of off-roads that don't classify as streets. Just because james takes out his radio doesn't mean the car won't run on the street.. Do you believe that not having a radio will cause ignition or electrical problems? Perhaps thats the reasoning for your remark. Just because the back half of my carpet is removed doesn't mean my car won't run on the street... Perhaps here you were thinking the back half of the carpet plays a role in the structural integrity of the car. I hope you are wrong on this one as I don't want my car's frame to twist like a pretzel ON THE STREET because I don't have the oh so very important rear half of the carpet in. Perhaps you should re-think the term STREET-ABLE... ie: Able to drive on the street. Doesn't mean you have to drive it every day of the year. Just because you can't compete with the big boys doesn't mean you have to bitch and moan about how its unfair to you. :Owned: JC93Z 02-07-2003, 12:40 PM Hell yeah Magnus!!!! Show them who is boss....LOL Let me add a few little comments in on this now.... My car has a TH400 tranny ( NO OVERDRIVE ) and I drove my car to towns 100 miles away...it didn't blow up the tranny is still strong.... I have no rear seats, no washer fluid tank, and I put gas in the car twice the whole night. Meaning once when I left and once when I got back....I think that is streetable Just because we don't drive our cars in those conditions doesn't mean that we CAN'T. We just choose not too because these are our pride and joy. I have a daily driver for that crap. Once in awhile I might get caught in the rain but it is no big deal. Tell you what you choose a track, we will all DRIVE to the track, race and then drive home....Then would you consider our cars streetrable....???? V6Power 02-07-2003, 12:44 PM Yes I know Tiago drives his car everyday. He is a good friend and we talk alot. Did creatine inflate the dumb part of your brain too? You have no clue about transmissions and why my broke so shut your dumb ass. You can't even install your own shift kit or install gears that don't whine. At least I don't have knock retard after ****ing up my head install and then have no clue what to do for half a year. Thankfully someone smart helped you out. You should have at least talk to Tom. Piece of **** head work for $2K. If you like driving at 3K+ RPMs for a few hours at a time on the highway, that's fine. I don't and most people don't. I didn't have my PCM reprogrammed. Do you have any clue as to what a PCM does? It controls shifts and top speed. So I can't even run a full 1/4. I had to coast to that 14.8 while shifting at 5500-5700. I hit 14.8 at only 83mph. You have 2 other cars so you can rice the one you have now. I only have 1 car and I'm not going to do anything more to it until I get a second one. Some of us have prorities in life. Your dumb ass couldn't even hit 14.8 on a stock converter. Are you going to cry to every admin on every car board out there to ban me cause you're too much of a ***** to do anything about it yourself? Bring that OWNED banned to my house today and we'll see whos going to get owned. You actually had PSJ post on fbodyv6 cause you were too scared to post yourself. You told Steve Miller to ban me cause you were to scared to tell me something on AIM. Stop hiding behing people and face you ****ed coward. As I said I'll be here all day. You can't even imagine the pain I'll put your skinny weak ass through if you decide to show. I'm out like your popularity of every board out there. slvrbird2000 02-07-2003, 12:53 PM So how is the PCM programming coming along Magnus? 2 years and counting... did your friend ask for his Tech 2 back yet? How's the paper jam removal job coming along? Yeah we may not be hot sh!ts with our V6s now, but in 5 years who will be graduated from college? And who will be still stuck in a rut trying to fix his KR problem? Pretty self explanatory to me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Bring yourself down to HRP. There will be a mob waiting to welcome you heartily. Times like these I wished I lived in Chicago... oh wait, nevermind, I'm in the greatest state ever! Texas  Scott Magnus 02-07-2003, 12:57 PM Awwwww.... poor baby, *sniff* *sniff* I hope i didn't hurt your feelings.. *sniff* *sniff* I installed Zach's 4.10's and they are silent. :) So yea, that destroys your first pathetic attempt of an attack at me. My knock retard isn't from a f'd up head install either. Nobody helped me out on it either. It's just noisy CC 941 springs that won't be on the new engine... ERRR.. try again loser. ;) My heads didn't cost 2K either and they are definately not pos's... mind you i ran 13.6@98 naturally aspirated.. Wrong again hot shot. ;) How is my car riced out? I have no stickers, no wing, it's not slammed, i don't have big ole rim's on it.. it's not bliging.. It's just a regular drag car. :) By saying my car is rice, your also implying that so many other members of camaroz28 have riced out f-bodies too... are you nolonger a fan of the drag car f-body? Oh yea, I did hit 14.8 on stock verter btw, at GLD too.. boy you are just sucking today aren't ya! Cry yourself a river.. you got banned from firebirdv6.com because of YOU, not me. ;) And that's the beauty of it. lol I also didnt tell psj to post on fbodyv6.com either. Wrong again ya big loser. LOL I'm the skinny weak one? You're the one who goes to the gym once a month and makes it an event. I'm sooooo scared. Yea, my popularity is suffering... oh yea.. cause I'M the ******* that's talkin smack behind other peoples back.. yup.. damn i suck. Guess again... loser. ;) Get lost man, take your drama elsewhere. JC93Z 02-07-2003, 01:00 PM Wait a minute....I guess you two have beef with each other  .....I didn't mean to step on anyones toes....I was just making a friendly wager.... :D V6Power 02-07-2003, 01:08 PM I'll be home today. You can show the world how big of a man you are. Sidenote, I got a Bally's membership renewed and been going there very often. Zach's car doesn't whine cause his car is just so awesome. You're right I can't compete now. I spend $25K on tuition a year. When I'm done, I'll start competing. It's 12:05 now. Still waiting. I really don't feel like talking **** to people who live within beating distance. So I'll just stop posting and wait. 12:06. Just waiting for you to show up to back up your brave words with brave actions. :dead: Your car is faster so you can always run away. Waiting........ Magnus 02-07-2003, 01:19 PM Hey, here's an idea, how about Scott and his side kick Dom play a game.. I know i konw.. Lets pretend we're adults and start acting like them? huh? huh? what do you boys think? think ya can handle that? I know it would be tough... but I think if you try hard enough you just might be able to pull it off.. V6Power 02-07-2003, 01:21 PM waiting...... JC93Z 02-07-2003, 01:22 PM This thread needs to get back to the topic at hand...If you two have beef take care of it through e-mail. Sidenote.... Give me a break....Now you are starting to show your age....fighting resolves nothing. :( DriveACamaro 02-07-2003, 01:22 PM lameo. im glad i got rid of my v6 so i wouldnt need to associate myself with keith  all he does is start trouble. lets see what witty remark he comes up with for me. my car is streetable, when its not broken. i guess thats that downside to having power. hawgs 02-07-2003, 01:23 PM "Keith, what the HELL is your problem.. Enough is enough.. take it OFF of the board!" "Keith, seriously quit the buill**** already. Your badmouthing dom doesn't help answer this guys question AT ALL... so just shut the hell up with that crap already. Talk about fast v6's, talk about streetable, but quit the bad mouthing. " "I've had enough of you Keith... I warned you twice.. You need a timeout. You're just being an instigater. " "Dom, please forward any hate e-mails to me and the admins. This is the second complaint i've heard of this nature in the past few days from various members. Thanks. " "Why are they getting out of hand I ask you? Perhaps Keith and/or Dom should take a setp back? Why keep bringing up the same old crap." "You should be setting an example and lead others to do so as well." all quotes taken from another message board all made by keith... i changed the names around to show how keith should follow what he says to others. :Owned: Magnus 02-07-2003, 01:26 PM Sorry you feel that way Roy, cause I remember very clearly offering you help at the track when you broke... some trouble maker I am.. I'm done playing with you two, back to reality and the world of adults I go. I also agree, this thread needs to get back on topic... Rumor has it there are stock elim 3.8's going 12's NA.. several cars out there i believe, not very streetable though, but still an amazing achievement. Magnus 02-07-2003, 01:28 PM btw hawgs, you're right man. Us bickering doesn't help this guy at all... I appologize. *steps back* slvrbird2000 02-07-2003, 01:29 PM Back to the unjamming of papers you go, more like it. Meanwhile, I'm off to study to get my TEXAS education. I hope PSJ approves. Scott DriveACamaro 02-07-2003, 01:31 PM Originally posted by Magnus Sorry you feel that way Roy, cause I remember very clearly offering you help at the track when you broke... some trouble maker I am.. jeez, really, what help did you offer? pushing the car off the track so you could take zachs car around again? wow, thanks man. i should send you a thank you letter. oh, zach, yea, the same guy that i couldnt meet up with in the morning because you wouldnt let him. wow, yea, youre a friend man, thanks. the only person that offered real help was zachs family. must be an italian thing. Magnus 02-07-2003, 01:44 PM Roy, you are absolutely right and I appologize. Zach's family is definately very nice. In all honestly I though the act of me just coming out to help you push your car off the track was a sign of good faith. I'm sorry man. - Keith Magnus 02-07-2003, 01:46 PM TMDZ28, Is your girlfriend still buying a V6 camaro? If so what would she like from it? How agressive does she want to go, what kind of budget does she have? If she wants it to remain somewhat "plesant" you could always do intake and skip exhaust and perhaps a nicer gear and maybe a little bit of torque converter to help. Also depends on the year too though. 00+'s usually come close to hitting 14's at the track practically stock in good conditions. Seal 02-07-2003, 02:02 PM man everyone got so defensive here Seal 02-07-2003, 02:06 PM magnus is my best friend :D am i even ur friend keith? :( Seal 02-07-2003, 02:08 PM keith, why dont u post at my boards? you post here, this is just another v6 section for fbodies... is my site not good enough for you? perfect example to dividing community eh JC93Z 02-07-2003, 02:10 PM People on both sides just need to chill.... Like I said handle it through e-mail. Thanks.....JC Magnus 02-07-2003, 02:15 PM Seal, you're not really helping, but then in fact neither is this reply of mine. I don't know you well enough to consider you my friend or not.. and i've never met you in person so I can't say you wouldn't be a friend of mine if I ever did meet you.. It's not right for anyone including me to cause drama.. but sometimes it happens and we move on. I just have to clarify that I was misquoted. I like to believe that I have enough self control and am mature enough to hold back remarks as harsh as those. Just out of curiousity, how old are you slvrbullet? Your reply is very childish. No biggie though, a few of mine in this post were equally as childish. Such is life, life goes on... Seal 02-07-2003, 02:44 PM life goes on, but people get diff opinions about each other... its not that life is moving on, the important thing is what we did to change the way we look at things while life is moving on Magnus 02-07-2003, 02:46 PM In an attempt to salvage this thread and bring some light into the chaotic 4'th grade playground argument that this thread has blown up into about weather or not the lines count in 4-square... if TMDZ28 has e-mail notification on, his e-mail box must be blowin up. LOL :) He's in for some rather interesting reading. navyblue2000 02-07-2003, 02:57 PM back on to the original topic, v6's aren't really that slow... i have an exhaust off a z28, and with just whisper lid and powershot filter ran a 14.92 at 92.2 mph i have a few more mods since then, so it goes to show that not all v6's are slow. i drive a manual of course...i can DRIVE it. guys, seriously quit the bashing. we're all here just to make our cars faster, why be so hateful? HAZ-Matt 02-07-2003, 05:43 PM Originally posted by TMDZ28 i would like to know what is the true potential of the camaro V6?? it seems fast on the streets.....well my GF would like to buy them....thanks Actually a big reason a lot of people (esp. women) prefer the Mustang to the F-body is that they think the f-body has too much power. Even the 6... look in the 5th gen discussion, there is a thread that says that exactly... straight from SS. The have the potential to be 14 second cars relatively easily, and 13 second cars with the right power adder. Just because he has a faster car than you, is obviously smarter than you because of the things he is working on, and because, frankly, more people like him, doesnt give you all the right to trash talk him. Magnus, I love you....erm....I respect your work. So anyway, thats all I have to say...and if youre from Houston, with the exception of Matt, dont bother replying to this cause it will just make me MORE want to go down there with an Edge converter and hit someone over the head with it;) slvrbird2000 02-07-2003, 06:03 PM Hehehehe, good ole A&M/UT rivalry. It's all good to me, i hate half the "traditions" up here anyway. Just appealed to me more than Austin did. I had my own reasons for my earlier posts, who the fUUUUUck are you to tell me what to say and what not to? Is that a threat by the way, Adam? Should we forward this to all the admins of the board and have the FBI come after you? Jesus, at least Matt has a brain and isn't such trash. Adam you used to be cool with me, what did I do to piss you off? Alright homos, back to GTA2 I go. :metal: Scott HAZ-Matt 02-07-2003, 06:16 PM Originally posted by Knight Rider if youre from Houston, with the exception of Matt, dont bother replying to this Originally posted by slvrbird2000 at least Matt has a brain and isn't such trash. Scott For real... some guys from Houston talk a lot of sh*t... I'm glad you agree Scott ;) Knight Rider 02-07-2003, 06:27 PM Actually bro, it wasn't a threat, hence the ;) after it. It was a joke, I would have only expected you to see it as such, since you LOVE to make fun of Edge and all ;) Originally posted by slvrbird2000 Adam you used to be cool with me, what did I do to piss you off? Scott you used to be cool with Evan, what did he do to piss you off? Someone makes fun of Ross or Jeff and you defend them and are mad at that person...well, you ALL make fun of Evan....so what would you expect me to do? Magnus 02-07-2003, 06:43 PM It seems as if the peace has been restored. :) Have a good weekend everyone. :) Yes, that includes Scott and Dom. ;) Life's too short to bicker ALL the time. :D O yea, Roy, you have a good weekend too! Now I'm gone like the wind!! woooooosh. - Keith shortdog273 02-08-2003, 12:28 PM Originally posted by Silver00 my v6 bird just has a cam and converter and exhaust work and i'm in the 12s, hoping to get into 11s now with the tuning I got and the right tires. Silver00 Maybe I'm wrong, but something is not adding up here. You're saying you hit 12s N/A right? Also, since when did hooker start making longtube headers for V6s? Sorry, but :bs: MustangEater82 02-08-2003, 12:53 PM Originally posted by V6Power So who drives the SAME setup they drive at the track EVERYDAY of the year in EVERY CONDITION? I do I play with the tire psi a little but thats about it. Even worse I autocross and drag race on the same setup. Then again I am not cosidered fast... I can tell you 3.42s with a 5-speed are a very nice and mild setup, even on the highway. As for the v6 stang over f-body, I think the bigger choice for women picking stangs is do to driving ability. If you have Drive a stang in a parking lot then drive an F-body. F-body is easy to us but when you first drove one it probable felt kind of big an bulky but that is something you get over quickly, but not when you tyest drive 2 cars int he same day. Basically if you want ot keep the car kinda every day driveable to the nice person, I would do. 3.42s w/LSD, 1 piece driveshaft, Lid/CAI, catback exhasut(I would choose a v8 Catback, its very tame, sounds the best in my opinion, and yields some decent gains. igniton won't hurt but isn't going to get you amazing times. Those right there will pep up the car and probable put it in the lower 15s, maybe 14s. And be very comfortable. I am just going by what my girlfriend would find acceptable. :) Knight Rider 02-08-2003, 03:25 PM Originally posted by MustangEater82 F-body is easy to us but when you first drove one it probable felt kind of big an bulky but that is something you get over quickly, but not when you tyest drive 2 cars int he same day. Word up on that. The first time I drove my bird I felt like I was steering an Oil Tanker using only a spoon as the tiller. I also thought that I couldnt see the road in front of me. This is, of course, after having driven a very easy sterring Cherokee with great visibility. The only thing I do different at the track is take out my spare/jack/passenger seat and turn oiff the radio and climate control. Then again, Im not fast either...im only at 15.19 @91.6 mainly stock :D MustangEater82 02-08-2003, 04:45 PM I yank jack and spare, but then again I usually keep that yanked 24/7 :) I have a cell phone and understanding girlfriend... 12secondv6 02-08-2003, 10:47 PM Sigh, this is EXTREMELY depressing to see the V6 community like this. Come on guys, we get sh*t sometimes for owning V6's. We need to stay together!!!! If you do not like someone just don't talk to them. It is MUCH easier this way then seeing this bickering. Seal, sent you mail Originally posted by V6Power I wonder how many of those cars are capable of driving in the rain/snow, take turns faster then 10mph. I drive my bird in the rain and snow but recently I bought a mercury sable so I can explore more options with my bird and try and go faster and lighter. Take turns faster than 10, eh, kinda iffy. I had to replace a bent a arm due to a curb incident and I came across a group purchase for k member, a arms, and manual steering rack. I jumped on it and bought the drag k member which does not have the ability to use a front sway bar. I have a full size red top Optima battery I have a washer fluid resevoir. I have headlights. I had accidently messed up the wiring with my stereo. I drove around w/ a complete system in the car but it did not work. I was moving towards a more track car vs street car. I felt I did not need to have a functioning stereo in the bird because I drove around since the spring w/ it not working and I really did not care. To me it was extra weight. Since the head unit is gone I plan on installing a pair of pyrometer guages there to monitor cylinder temp via 2 banks (left and right). I have full carpet, the sound deadening is removed though. I have just joined a group purchase for a light weight new carpet. My stock carpet has 1 burn mark and 1 hole. I normally have 2 front seats in the bird. If I am hitting the track I sometimes ditch it but not always. If I am going for new bests then yes, it is gone. If it is a day for r/t's then no. I'm not bashing you, I'm just answering your previous post. V6Power 02-09-2003, 01:26 AM James, you should seriously enter in an arm wrestling competiton. I blew out the power steering on a minivan once and after I got home I was ripped. :metal: k-members have no bracket holes for sway bars? Or is it just PA? Why do you want to monitor cylinder temps? my weight mods: no back seat, but really I use it for cargo. When I got to balance tires or to autox and need to fit 4 wheels with tires mounted on them along with tools. I have holes in my light weight carpet all over the place so even less weight. :D Passanger seat comes out at the track. Bumper supports gone. And I managed to hit a few things in the meantime. Too lazy to put them back. Windshield tank is gone. Now when it snows or rains or there is crap on the roads and a semi drives by me, I have to stop and clean the windshield. Didn't think about this one when I did it. And no I can't put it back cause I broke the line in a few places. Air bags were blown long before I was into racing. I'd really like to borrow some skinnies and drags from local harcore racers one time. I don't see myself spending money on something I'll use 2-3 days out of the year. I drive 700 miles a week in this car.:metal: I know you're not bashing, you're the only one that actually decided to read and answer. 12secondv6 02-09-2003, 03:18 AM Originally posted by V6Power k-members have no bracket holes for sway bars? Or is it just PA? Why do you want to monitor cylinder temps? When I chpose the K member I had the option for a street or drag version The street version has places for a front sway bar The drag version does not. I figured that since I was not running a sway bar already I no longer needed it. As for monitoring cylinder temps: Nitrous will quickly increase cylinder temps. Especially high hp shots 150-200 hp levels. If all of a sudden I see the cylinder temps rise then I know to let off so I can prevent a head gasket problem or MUCH worse. MustangEater82 02-09-2003, 11:31 AM I would dump my rear seats, but They woudl bump me up to race in autocross if I did, I have the back seat disconnected, so I jsut pull it and chuck it in the trunk, putting weight on the rear tires, all ~20 lbs of it. Seal 02-10-2003, 03:13 AM james, responded to your mail am not doing any weight reduction except swap my interior with light weight carpet, and move the batt to the back... i need all my seats :P my whole point is to have a car where i can fit 4 ppl :) (i've fitted 5 in my car b4 :o) | ||
