calling all NITTO 555R > ONLY STREET < owners

I got sticky tires for the track .. so i wont be using the nittos .. but its time for some new tires and i wanted to get ur opinions on the nitto DRs for the street

i'll be getting the 315 35 17s for the back and running BFG comp TAs up front ... i know they should help my street traction problem, but how do they handle around the corners ? i'll have 25mm rear / 32 mm front bars, with full HAL suspension and all the other suspension goodies ... and i do like to toss my car in the corners really hard ... so im wondering how the nittos handle corners and wet ground

thanx for ur input

ps. anyone ever get over 15000 miles on a set of nittos ? (no burn outs, no racing, only street driving in a *mature* kind of way )

ps. already did a search, couldnt find any good input on "street only" use .. thers a lot of track info though ..

i liked my Nitto's and never had any problems with them in the rain or around the corners. but i never really took corners really hard with them.

I have 245/50/16 555Rs on the back and they stick so well around turns that they push the nose out.

I drove them in the slush too and they were fine lol.

Nitto

Nittos rule on the street and are not bad at all in the rain. My brother, an avid autocrosser with 12 years of experience, races with the 555r tires all the way around. He loves them. The sidewalls flex a little more than other tires on the track, but he likes it. He says it makes the car "more predictable." I love mine and have been driving with them on the rear for about 8K miles. It looks like I'll get 12K or so out of them.

I have 315/35/r17 555R's on my car, and they are awesome. The aren't what I would consider an auto-X tire, but they handle pretty darn well as far as i am concerned. Mine don't like the rain all that much though, but that may just be because I am nuts and drive too fast in the rain. The are great tires, and the hook like nobody's business. I have about 5k on mine, and they don't show that much wear. Who knows, I may get 15k out of them

They are definitely a great street tire, but mine are just plain horrible in the rain and snow. I have a very hard shifting A4, the tires break loose during every 1-2 shift at part throttle in wet weather. Combine a 1-2 shift with a turn at a stoplight in wet weather and you have a recipe for disaster, seriously. But, yeah, they hook very good when its dry
