Nope, that's not an inserts. People take the piece off and paint it black. Some do a gloss black and others do a flat black.

This was originally offered on the Berger SSs from GMMG I do believe and people liked it so they started doing it themselves

i did mine flat black, i was afraid glossy would over power the rest of the car, i think it looks nice since im goin with the black and red theme on my car here is a pic of mine

i really liked the look of the berger so i did mine, i bought it from a seller in the parts section on here for 50 that way i have the other one that is color matched to my car if i ever need to get it back on
