Corbeau Seat Install Questions

Seats just came in today, but how in the world am I going to attach them to the Roll Cage? Anybody have any pics or anything? I dont want bolts going all the way through the seat? I know I can pick up some kind of kit at Jegs, but not sure how I would install them.

I got the Fronza seats btw.

Thanks,
Jason

I have the Forza for the drivers seat only, and right now all I have is a small brace on the crossbar, with a pad that the back of the seat rests against. It is not bolted in. So far, no problems with "tech". But eventually, something needs to be done.

Seems like the only metal in the seatback is the panel that spans where the harness loops are. I would think that the fabric would have to be removed by an upholstery shop, a mounting plate welded or bolted to the seat panel, and a hole cut and bound in the seat cover to allow a tube to run back to the crossbar. I was also thinking a spring pin in the bar would allow for front-to back positioning, and allow the seat to be removed for working in the interior, but I'm not sure if NHRA would allow a spring pin in that location.

Will be interesting to see what others have done. I was also wondering if it was worth contacting a Corbeau dealer to see what they recommend.

Ok, I just called Cabreau and they said that the fabric comes off really easy and all you have to do is have a bar(what you said) welded on and then attach the seat that way. Sounds pretty easy.

I'm sure you are aware that to run under 10.00, you need for the entire roll cage installation to be inspected and certified, and a certification sticker attached to the cage. I know they will inspect the seat mounts at that time.

Yeah I'm aware of that, thats why it's so important that I get the seats mounted correctly. The guy doing the cage is going to have the cage certified for me. I just will need to have the rest of it done now. For the most part I'm done. All I need is a SFI approved balancer. I have the tranny cover, SFI fly wheel, 10 point cage, and Net. Oh and I need to mount a kill switch for the battery so I'm just going to go ahead and relocate the battery to the back of the car.
