NYI track day

As we have talked about in the past, we are going to rent NYI (New York International) for a day. Rich is the one that has expressed the interest in setting this up (thanks Rich), so I want to get a count of people who would DEFINATLY commit to this event. This would be for the end of April. We can rent the track for $500/day so that would be $50/person for the day if we had 10 guys (which we easily will). We have 8 definates already.

*Rich, if you would be willing I would also love to rent the track for a day in October too :)

Anyway here are the definates so far:

We are almost sure that NYI will give us a rain check, Rich is going to check this out to be sure though. How fun would it be to have the track to ourselves for a day :) WELL worth $50!

I will call Bob Metcalf this week and verify terms and policies. The pricing policy last year was $50/car with a 10 car (=$500) minimum. What would be ideal is discount for >10 cars. I would propose offering something like $40/car but guarantee twenty cars. I'll see what I can do.

Im in on one condition:alert: ;):D Someone has access to a trailer or AAA or something. I have a feeling the life of my 10 bolt will be short lived.:( But if I can get an 11 sec timeslip I really dont care.:D

I am interested. What day are you thinking of renting the track? On a Saturday, Sunday?

Hey I am definetely in.I dont know if the camaro will be back on the road by then,so would it be ok if I showed up in my Talon?Dont worry,its slow so I shouldnt be embarassing anyone,and it will give you guys a chance to easily hand an import its ass!!LOL not that much of you have any troubles doing that anyways,but this is as easy as it gets!Anyways,count me in!!!

Track rental info.

1. $50/car, 10 car minimum.
2. Rental is for 6 hours.
3. Start 10a-12n, any day there is no event scheduled.
4. Liberal rain check policy (prorated refund based on hours used/six hours).
5. Spectators are free.

I prefer a Friday, we can stay for "Test and Tune" if we want. So maybe begin at 11am-5pm. How about April 25th or May 2nd?

Hey Rich, If it was on a Friday would we need to pay the night T&T fee also or would they let us include the night session with the $50?

Also, does the fee go down if we commit to more cars or does the track contine to charge $50 for each car over the minimum?

hey guys im from the NYC area, just wondering about how far away NYI is form the NYC area.

Hey guys I might be interested if I don't get rid of my car so I will let you all know by march or earlier.Prolly won't have a new a new car by then if it goes down the road to Johns house.I wouldn't mind ripping out a few 11 sec passes in it.

It's close to a 5-6 hour ride from NYC.

We can stay for the T+T if I understood right, I will be sure to clarify when I call next time. Bob Metcalf seemed pretty inflexible about $50/car, but if we had a count I would try to bargain. IOW, if we had 20 cars I'd off $900, or something like that.

Sounds great Rich.....either day. Its nice to know that he will pro-rate the day for us if it started raining at some point. Bob is a cool guy.

Actually I just heard it suppossed to be 50* or so with 4% humidity and something about the ground being sticky too..:confused:

Hey guys, You can count me in. Sounds like a good chance to meet some local f-body guys and see what my car can do. I have not even had a chance to run at lancaster yet :eek: Hopefully some guys will be able to give me a few pointers:)

ThumpinTA where in Depew are you? Im in cheektowaga off of french rd. Im sure youve seen my car around during the summer time....it be great if you came out!:)

Although I'm not one to commit to something 4 months in advance, more than likely I'm in. I may even be able to get my Mustang buddy to go to:).

Oh man, not another Dave:p!!!! J/k of course, and welcome. I too am from the area. What year TA is it, and do you have anything done to it? Maybe I've seen you around.

Guys i live in the george urban/**** road area. My car as it sits is listed at bottom. I have alot of new toys to install this next month which include (cam, 1.6rr,as&m headers, new opti ect.) Im hoping to get it tuned at kennedys also. 96z i checked your car pics out. Very nice im sure i would have remembered seeing it if i did, but i dont think we have crossed paths on the road yet.
