What mod would be best for me next?

Here is what I've been thinking of (choose one of the following):

1.) Longtubes
2.) LT4 HOT cam (w/stock heads and everything else on the car staying the same)
3.) 3.73s (have 3.23s now, no converter)
4.) Torque converter
5.) Ported heads (stock cam for now)

I'm just not sure which one of these mods should be done first

Any one of the things you listed is a good mod. What do you have done to the car already??

I would suggest the LT Headers. You will love them over time and the sound of an LT1 car with headers is incredible!!! If you are doing a cam, do the headwork at the same time. You will appreciate it MUCH more!!!

The Torque Convertor is a good mod, but only if you really put a suspension/tires behind it to hold the extra torque that you will be putting down. Same with the 3.73's. If you do the convertor, I would say 3.73's, tires, convertor all at the same time.

Headwork without a cam to back it up is pretty much useless in my opinion.

If I were you I would get full exhaust. Go with headers and a catback system first. If you put a cam in your car with the stock exhaust manifold it wont benefit you as much as it would be capable of. I have heard that LT's on a stock car will also hurt your bottom end. But if you plan on doing a cam later go ahead and get the LT's.

3.73's are also nice.

If you get the cam and head work, then you have to get a new computer program.

Anyways, good luck!

Go with the headers and a cat back. These changes will only enhance any future mods.

So far I have a cold air kit, cutout, !cat, electric h20 pump, all free mods, strut tower brace, panhard rod, roll bar, rear control arms, hpp(mainly for fan), and KBDD sfcs (waiting to get installed).

No, but seriously...

Actually I was thinking about ordering one today. I posted a question about it here yesterday. It's $60 and will help prolong the life of my trans.

Doing heads and a cam before getting headers is almost as pointless as doing headwork without a cam. You'll be really bottled up with the hotcam kit and no headers. I'd get the Hooker Longtubes and a nice catback first, like the Hooker catback. Its pretty cheap, and sounds mean on LT1 cars. You really cant go wrong with some gears and a converter either, it will REALLY wake up the car!

Get TPIS long tubes w/ either the offroad y-pipe or the y-pipe w/ dual cats! These headers rock...a little expensive, but way better than the Hookers! Goto www.tpis.com and look at the catalog, then under exhaust. You'll have to page through, but they are excellent looking headers, and are excellent if you're looking to stay emissions legal. That was my deciding factor. I couldn't find a y-pipe w/ cats made for the Hookers.
