Which SFC's should I get?
Which SFC's should I get?
I want to get SFC's but don't know what brand or type is best.
For brand, I've heard to go w/ BMR, so I'm gonna try to find some used BMR SFC's on ebay or something.
But I was looking on thunderracing and saw that they have many different types as well: Tubular, Boxed, etc...
So, what Type should I get given the following:
-I don't go to the track and don't care about launch
-It's a daily driver, non-lowered 97 Z28
-I want the car to handle better on corners/turns
-I DON'T care about if it will hurt my launch
-I want the best bang for the buck- don't care for "9-way adjustable blah blah for track or on-road use", just something that will get the job done well without emptying my wallet.
Thanks guys,
J

I like my BMR square tube SFC's. I was pleased with the quality of the pieces and the overall heft of them, they are no light weights but I wanted strong and that's what they are. I lost about 1 inch in ground clearance (I am stock height) and they are now the lowest point on my car. I like them being the lowest point because if I rub, like I have on this local MOUTAIN of a speed bump I know it is on some good steel and not my exhaust pipe or anything more fragile. I paid $80 to get them welded in at a local exhaust shop and could tell an instant difference on the drive home. The car had an overall feel of being stiffer, especially on uneven driveways. I would recommend them to anyone. Mine are black powder coat, I would suggest that you get black too unless you would like them to be seen. Good luck.
I have the SLP units and they are very beefy. I like the triangular shape and they are boxed. I would get the bolt on ones since they come powdercoated and have them welded on. Best ones I have seen.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I use Hotchkis. No clearance issues at all and you can't even see them when your head is stuck under your car. Felt a major difference with myhandling. I sold a pair of Kenny Browns to madwolf when they wouldn't fit my car and he said he didn't feel much of a difference.
Quick Question cuz i'm stupid-
I looked on thuderracing and BMR's website, and nowhere do i see "subframe connectrs", only lower control arms and other stuff.
What product exactly am i looking for. I'm confused all of a sudden.
Thanks for the help,
J

Nothin but compliments from everybody that sees it... well, saw it rather. The Black Z will have the same. The only thing that could be considered "rice" is the neons, which is a matter of opinion. The other stuff looks sweet meef on my car. Sorry my taste doesn't agree w/ yours.

If you want a cheap set ,but still helps your car handling ,go with MAC's subframes. They are cheap and they fit very nicley under your ride. They are tubular like BMR's. Now ,if you want to spend a little more.....BMR's are the way to go !!
