Your New Lexus Floor Mats Will Look Like Crap

We told you about Toyota's zip tie quick-fix they're forcing upon dealers to solve that pesky little deadly killer floor mat problem. Now here's exactly how crappy your brand new Lexus or Toyota will look. Below, how it's done.

Will Toyota replace the "zip tie" if you cut it to take the mat out to clean?

This is a joke...its not even a black tie!

BTW...isn't this what the little black hook we see in the picture is for?

This was a question for Fritz on his last webchat:

Will Buick seek to add white, plastic floor mat zip-ties in a bid to look more like Lexus?

Fritz Henderson: not going to get into this.

FWIW, this is a temporary fix. The real fix is a new ecu program that automatically cuts the drive-by-wire accelerator anytime the brakes are applied.

I saw this as well......this is a big topic of joking within GM right now.

Fritz showed a bit of a sense of humor actually taking this question!

I'm really not sure how this helps in addition to the hook that's already in there.

Stupid lawsuits.
