Opti sounds like a logical start...have you replace anything ignition related lately ?

Sounds like opti. Try NE dyno tuning. I am sure they can help you out.

Without a formal diagnosis, I would change out the coil and coil wire long before the opti. Stock coils typically only last 60-80,000 before they go bad and they are pretty cheap and quick to replace compared to the opti.

Yup, do the free/cheap/easy stuff first. Check the plug wires for wear too.

I really don't think it makes much difference. coil doesn't really help performance until you start pushing some serious horsepower. However, if you are going with an aftermarket ignition, I would normally recommend staying with the same brand for all of the components. It makes troubleshooting and support much easier that way.

Everybody has a favorite, MSD, Crane, whoever... I happen to have a MSD coil and a MSD 6AL. It has worked flawlessly for two years. I can't say it has done anything for me performance wise however.

You might as well, it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Like Tnthub said, stick with the same brand for ignition components. For instance I have all MSD stuff on my car and I'm pretty happy with it.

Good luck
