Help with rebuilding 350

:confused: I need your help...I have a good 350 disassembled engine. It is an 87 non-roller truck block. It appears to be in great shape with almost no ring ridge and all the bearing look good too.
The heads are 1.9x1.5 I used a ruler to get this, the casting # are 14102193. The pistons are dished with 4 valve reliefs. I am trying to get away with as little money as possible. It will be replaceing my 305 TPI. I was planning on doing everything myself with the help of a rebuild kit from Summit/Jeg's etc. 1. Should I use the same pistons, are they worth anything. 2. the heads are these anygood, and what are their cc's? Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks Ryan

I would only guess that the pistons are a low compression design made for a truck and towing and for use with 87 octane, etc,etc...

I would buy a rebuild kit and send all of your parts to a trustworthy machine shop for all of the required machining work and assembly. They could also clean your heads up, pocket port and polish them a little, install new seals and guides, valvesprings and retainers also. They would be new heads basically with a little extra power!

All depends on what you want to spend i guess. Goodluck! Good machine work is definately important, don't forget that.


edit: oh yeah, I would choose a compression ratio in the 9.0-9.6 range for the best pump gas use with you stock iron heads.
