Car running rough and shutting off
Car running rough and shutting off
Hey Guys,
I have a stock 94 camaro Z-28. I stopped at the gas station to get some gas. I was heading back to work and after 10 minutes of driving the car, suddenly the check engine light and check gauges light came on, the start started to run rough and it shut off. After letting the car sit for about 20 minutes, I drove it back home and after about 15 minutes of driving it, the check engine light came back on along with the check gauges light and the car shut off again. Any solutions to fix my problem will be greatly appreciated.

This is just a shot in the dark based on what info I have. I would have to go with a fuel issue, kinda in the area of the O2's cause if you let the car set, the O2's will cool. And until they reach 600 degrees they car remains in open loop. Try unplugging them and let it idle for 10-15 mins. See if the problem goes away. It's a good way to eliminate them.
Scan it and find out why the SES light came on.
The "check gauges" light only comes on if one of the dach gauges goes into the red - what were the dash gauges reading when the light came on?

this same thing happened to me when i first got my car. when the light would come on my car would pretty much choke its self out while driving so i got the code read at an auto zone and it was the mass airflow sensor. i put a new one in right there and my car has never had that problem again. hope this helps
