So Summit screwed me on UMI Subframe Connectors ...

I have a 95' Z28 Convertible. So not many places make SFC's for them ...

UMI makes (3) different options. Bolt ins, Weld Ins, and Weld Ins w/Bolt In Hardware (dual function).

So me being a thinker, I ordered the Weld In's w/Bolt In Hardware ... then found out Summit words their **** weird. Mine did not come with hardware. I still haven't committed to the idea of welding on my frame. So I wanted the option to bolt them in first ...

I call Summit and tell them I need the hardware. They can not get me JUST the hardware and sales rep says unless I want to ship the whole set up back, she can't do anything.

So I emailed UMI hoping they will stand up better than Summit did and just sell me the hardware to mount them up ...

Figured you guys would like to know so no one else gets stuffed in the anus by Summit Racing buying SFC's for their convertibles.

Ya know, I'm starting to deal a lot more with Jegs lately. Maybe it's because Summit has let me down a few times, or the fact I really find Greg Anderson very annoying.

Yea I hear you ...

It really irritated me. Especially considering that they did not kiss my *** after all the money I spent there over the years and just get a hardware package to me (that I WOULD WILLINGLY pay for - they cant even get the damn thing)

But props to UMI - they are selling me the hardware set and said they sent it out same day I emailed them.

I always used to really like summit cause they were faster to ship to my house, and generally had better prices. Their website USED to be easy to navigate but these days it is pretty sucky too ...

I think I would have called back later hoping to get a different rep or asked for a supervisor. When I've had questions the rep would put me on hold and call the vendor. Sounds as though the rep you had was new to the job and didn't think. If a phone rep can't fix a customer problem to that buyer's satisfaction they MUST hand off to a supervisor.

Their "ace" programmers or website support agent broke something that didn't need fixing!

I noticed that too.

Summit once sent me the wrong short block - a much cheaper one than I was supposed to get - try returning something like that!

I usually get good service from them in buying stuff. But the true test is when something is wrong - How they react to it and help their customers.

Just wanted to update - UMI got the hardware kit out to me and was at my house first thing FedEx'ed this morning. I put em' on after work, along with my control arms and STB and the car feels WAY different. And all my creeks and rattles are gone except for the exhaust heat shields by the fuel tank ...

I've shopped @ Summit and Jegs. Both great delivery. Prices very close. I have purchased alot of stuff from Summit, but, do my research on parts. I lov weld in stuff. Part of modding is developing the tool skills and aquire of tools. One of my first tools was a Miller-matic 130 MIG welder. Best tool I ever purchased. I have welded alot of my 97ss Camaro underbody and fabbed many mods inc a Rad move. Since then I have a Lath/ Mill & Miller Sincrowave 2000 TIG and others. We humans aquire stuff. B.

Summit is very good to deal and the bolt issue was on our part and not just Summit. The part # for the bolt kit got mixed up between us and them.

Nice to see you took care of the problem. Good job. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to pick up one of your k-members.
