Chevy expects 38% growth from upcoming models.

Projecting a 38% growth in unit sales from the new Malibu, Colorado, and Equinox over the models they are replacing (current Malibu, S10, and Tracker)

I certainly see Equinox just crushing Tracker sales....

Thats quite a gain. I imagine they mean over 2002 sales of those models. WHich sounds good but all three have had better years in the past when they were new. I think Chevy just expects to see sales like they had when those models were new and fresh. The good part is hopefully all three will have banner years and help fill GM's piggy bank. Because with the success of the new Mustang we need a new Camaro.

I agree totally... I really think Equinox will be a hit in the small SUV segment!

It looks so much more 'beefy' than the Tracker... plus it'll lose the old Geo stigma...

I think it looks a lot more interesting than the Ford Escape, and I consider the RAV4 and those to be more of a Tracker type car, than an actual small SUV...

I really like the Saturn VUE too, though... kind of a tough choice between that and Equinox....

I think it's pretty sharp. The only question I have is if GM is too late to the party to make up the market share it lost with the Tracker. I think it will be ok, but again, I'm not all the potential consumers.

looks neat.. If its well put together, good perf, and a good price, I'd look in cnosidering to replace my gf's Tracker with ti If it had DoD also, that would be even better.

I hope GM does have increased sales, by making better cars and raising consumer preceived quality.

Then once GM is back on its feet, it can build the next Camaro.

I predict that GM will be disapointed...

Honestly, how can EVERY automobile manufacturer be predicting 30%+ sales gains in a market that at best will maintain current total sales and most likely decline....

Why is the equinox getting the old 3.4 when the Vue, which to my understanding is the same thing, gets a trick 5 speed auto with a twin cam 3.0l? I got a Vue as a rental car and, although the rest of it was crappy, I loved the drive train.

I remember reading there is a new family of V6's, ranging from hi value (no extra tech, pushrod) to hi feature (DOHC).... I'm assuming it'll have this V6, along iwht the Malibu.. anyone can back me up?

It will have the Hi Value v-6, which is the same old 3.4 that they have been putting in n-bodies and minivans for years, which is mentioned as a weak point in every review written about one of those cars.

The Equinox will probably triple tracker sales alone, it is the best looking small SUV I have ever seen.

Colorado will definatly out sell the S-10, it is bigger, has more configurations, and will have better build quality. Its is also better looking IMHO than the S10, especially the SuperCrew version

Malibu should sell a little more, but only because Chevy will advertise and push it more. I don't think it looks that much different than the current Malibu.

I think you are right on target on both accounts!
