I am buying a 2.5" fiberglass hood from a company called FFI customs and I asked them a few times how much their hood weighs and didn't get an answer until the third time and they told me "sir the hoods are rated at 56-65 Lbs". I don't think they know what they are talking about because that sounds heavier than stock (I carry hoods around the shop daily).

 

I think the stock hood is 70lbs, my fiberglass hood weighs 26lbs.

 

I weighed a green one 46# with insulation with bathroom scales

 

I'm a little pissed off, I bought it without knowing how much it would weigh because I decided I really wanted it and really, how heavy could it be? Though I'm hoping the guy is a dumbass and he gave me the weight for a stock hood for some reason or is just wrong.

 

If it's fiberglass it's not going to weigh 55-65lbs, sounds like the guy just doesn't know what he's talking about.

 

they gave me the weight for it when it is all boxed up and said they doubt that it weighs more than a stock hood. I still say they should know how much their product weighs.

 

Wait hold on a sec, they said they "doubt" it weighs more than the stock hood? WTF? If it's fiberglass like they said it is then it's not going to weigh nowhere near the same as the stock hood. I hope you were just talking to a moron that didn't have a clue.
