I have a 12_bolt Moser in my 97ss. From discussions with Moser (I ordered new axle bearing due to oil leaks), they told me the purpose of the 1/8" shims between the outside bearing flange, and, the bearing. Moser designed the Moser 12 F_body axle for the 98 and up. The disc/ caliper on the 97 and lower years required the shim to run clearance spacing. No shim for 98 and later years. Moser was very helpful. B

As far as I know you'll have to pull the axles and remove all of the LT1 brake parts and the spacer. Then just install all the brake parts from your LS1 car and reinstall the axles.
