Smile T-Top will not come off

One of my t-tops will not come off. I doubt if they were ever taken off the car before I purchased it. It looks as if the key lock is not locked but the t-top is stuck, and I am afraid to pull it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried to put the key in and move the lock?

Might want to mention the specific year of the car.... different generations have different T-top designs.

Handle moves, lock turns, top will not "pop" off. Not sure if the lock is turning, but may not really be releasing, or if its just stuck. I bought the car from a 65 year old lady, who bought the car new, garage kept, clean underbody, no rust anywhere, and i dont think she ever removed the tops. Car looks like its 2 years old.

Will it not move at all like the latches don't retract, or does it just seem like it's stuck in place from not being removed for a while? Unless something's come undone inside of the T-top, as long as the handle moves, the latches should retract.
