A4 WOT Kickdown @ 70MPH - ever hear a "gurgling" sound ?
Really weird - it's not valve clatter , but more of a gurgle.
It usually does it the first time I jump on it, and then not the second , but there is no consistency that I can determine.
It's done this since I bought the car - I wonder if the HPP3 could have a hand in this as it's pretty much been on since I have owned the car as well.
I even have gone back to the stock MAF ends - no difference.
The car has FRA if this helps anyone bench troubleshoot.
Thanks in advance !!
Britt

Do you have 3.23's, or 2.73's?? (I think SS's only come with 3.23's, don't they??
). Also, does this happen in Drive or Over-Drive?? Or only in OD??
Since I'm cheap (another word for broke!!
), and do so much driving, I usually run 87 octane in my car, so occasionally I'll hear a little "pinging" if I give it a little gas under light loads, but then the knock sensor always picks it up and corrects the timing. I find it's worse in OD since the revs are even lower per given speed, but if I leave in in D (even for higher speeds) I never hear pinging since IMO, the computer is already compensating the timing due to the heavier load the engine is under. I don't know if that's what you're suffering or not, but it may be the case??

3.42's with the automatic??
I don't think so
. I'm pretty sure the SS's still have 3.23's (except the 3.23's are standard, and 2.73's aren't an option)................but, I could be wrong
. The only cars that get 3.42's are M6 cars.............regardless of Z28/SS/TA/WS6.

Not that it's relavant to this discussion ... but all M6s come with 3.42. If it is an SS M6 3.42s ... SS A4 3.23s
Sorry, brain fart on my part!
if you read my post, I said the A4 has... and SS's have..., doesnt make much sense. Should have reread before i posted. Instead of ss's have 3.42's i meant M6's
again, sorry.
