Lt1 vs 2003 G35 Coupe

So I'm passing by a Chevron station on my way home one late night and I see a black G35 pulling out. About a mile down the road his purple lights catch up to me. I have the windows down so I can get some of the nice 45* air and he pulls up next to me and starts revving. I can tell hes in gear and ready to roll. We are at 45mph and I floor it. He pulls a car ahead instantly (damn auto downshift). I start reeling him in and by the time I have a half car ahead he slams on the brakes and freaks me out a bit.

I ask him what hes done to it, he says the typical "Just a V6". I give him the typical "I'm not a dumb****" look. I ask him what he's done to it and out comes the ported this, that, exhaust, tune, etc. Sounds like alot I say and he nods. He said it dynoed 270 to the wheels. I pointed to mine and just said full exhaust. He was cool.

My car just gutted ram air LTs and an open cutout. It wasn't a real race at all, but I don't think a real race would've been pretty for him since I was pulling him in auto LT1s near dead zone. They are nice looking cars, but modding them seems pointle$$. It felt good to have a car that I bought at a junkyard, put in a couple hundred in mods, and still put a bruising on cars of today.

Anyway, discuss.

It always amazes me that new drivers want to race. I never get macho'd from any of them anymore if they have a couple of years on them. They just have to learn the hard way sometimes.

Annihilations of recent vintage...
Subaru WRX - no problem
Honda S2000 - no problem
Nissan 350 ZX - no problem
Mit**** EVO - no problem
BMW M3 - no problem
Mustang GTs - no problem
Dodge Chargers - no problem

If my car was a WWII fighter, I would have a dozen flags emblemed beneath my cockpit.

Those G35 are so weak... I remember when I raced one when they first came out and smoked one with my practically stock Z28 that I bought for under $6k... I don't know, but I would feel salty if I just spent $40K on a car and got smoked by a car that was a ton older and worth about a 1/7 of it

Any car has potential when you're willing to spend twice its purchase price to get it there.

Those engines typically don't last a long time under even light boost. It's far more complicated than just throwing on a turbo kit and doubling the power.

this is the 100% truth
so many people think it's as easy as just throwing the turbo on and putting it to whatever PSI you want
