Anyone from Sarasota Fl area ???

Hi i was just wondering if there was anyone from sarasota in this group ....i dont know any fbody owners here but see lots of them .

i'm from sarasota, but i'm in orlando right now going to school. i graduated from riverview in '01. i come down every now and then. check out my website in my sig, you might recognize my car.

your car is awesome.....i have only had my trans am since august 23..but its my second fbody....no mods yet ....i am glad there is another person from my area on here....rare to find one ....thanks for the reply

I was born in sarasota but no longer live there or have an f-body haha.

it's all stock for now. i just fabbed up a ram air scoop under the air box and thats all. i also got in on the pro 5.0 shifter gp and that'll be it for a little while.

im planning on getting a full true dual exhaust on it, then over the summer pick up some afr heads and have them ported by a friend of mine in town here. then a custom ground cam after i have it all put together.

for now i might just throw a 125 shot of nitrous and et streets on weld drag lites and leave it like that for a while, it'll save me a ton of cash =)

btw have you run into a red '00 viper around town? the guy cant drive a stick very well and is extremely arrogant...i was suprised to have won up until about 90mph when we shut down, then a roll from 45mph to 110mph we were even and pulling me in but like i said, he couldnt shift :D

My wife grew up in Sarasota. We go see her folks a couple times a year. Whats the car scene like there? We have talked about moving there for years.

car scene...what car scene? =) seriously its mostly imports and a few nice cars around but nobody really wants to mess around. I know a few people around town who are into it. Track is about 20 min away if even that, and its open every Thursday night, 3rd sunday and friday of the month i believe also. they are open often enough that it keeps you from getting the urge to street race, but then again not many around town with a decently quick car street race.

i've actually seen tons a cars there. i've seen many rare ones like a mclaren f1, mercedes clk-gtr, ferrari f40; f355; 348; 550 maranello, 360 modena. those were all cars i saw driving around town. theres a place on 41 that has tons of cars for show including a lingenfelter twin turbo corvette. so i'd say the car scene is pretty good if you ask me. as far as the imports go, i know a few turboed guys you may need to watch out for, but most of them aren't very fast.

most of those cars are owned by the same guy.......the f1, clk, and f40 are all the same owner








btw....im from sarasota, and i also have a 95 t/a......only mods so far is a slp cai, but im having a cut-out installed wednesday.

yeah the guy who owns the f1, clk, and f40 has a daughter who went to school with me. i think they have two f1s now, not sure. but they are some rich mofos :)

there is the place concord auto on us41 just north of stickney point. then pinache auto which you can rent the cars at across from the landings on us41, they have some nice cars there.

there are a few cars in town right now, but thats only because of college being out until today or whenever. I've run into a few fbodies, and a few quick imports but nothing really impressive. There is a lot of nice cars around but none who really drive them hard or fast around town...

one of the times i went to desot i saw a red viper there ...owner could drive it .....but of hand i cant remember the year ..its great to see others from sarasota ...i am guessing there are no local clubs or anything for the f bodies??....i am member of one in south carolina

we can help each other out doing mods and stuff. i know it sure helped to have someone do the plugs with me!

im ordering some lowering springs, and possibly buying a new aluminum driveshaft (mine is warped) too......so you guys can come over and see how its done.


btw, mine is a red t/a with ttops, silver stock wheels (yuck).

thats a good idea...my brother is doing my plugs on my car...she only has 47000 miles but being a 95 i figure i will go ahead with it ..big job ..:) so nice to have a mechanic as a brother free labor :)

Predatorbird: I think i saw your car headed west on Proctor Rd today, around 5:00pm. You had your t-tops off from what I could tell. I would have busted a u-turn but I was on my way to work heh.

transamgirl95: There are no f-body clubs that I know of, a friend and I have been thinking about starting one up...There seems to be some interest judging from the post and a few people I know, so maybe we should look into something like that?

no that wasn't me. i'm in orlando right now. i know theres a trans am w/ my hood and i think theres a firebird too, both are red. my car doesn't have t-tops either. i'm a little mad i've seen my hood in sarasota. i was the first to get it there.

I'm in the Sarasota area as well. I actually live very close to the track on SR64.

I live in Englewood when I'm home, and Orlando when I'm at school (UCF).

I drive a triple black 02 SS convertible. :) Shoot me a msg, I'm always up there shooting pool or something (I hang out at Gallery billiards a lot).

i work near I75 and fruitville, so if the guy was incredibly good looking, it was probably me.

i just put a 3" cutout from jegs ($28) on my car today ($40 to weld it on at a local shop).

i left my cat in place, to reduce the popping/fumes, since im going to run open cutout all the time. (anyone think this is a bad idea, leaving the cat in? i doubt it changes power all that much)

i gotta say.......it sounds badass, and i cannot see any reason to spend an extra $300-500 for an actuall cat-back exhaust system, other than having nice shiny exhaust tips.

if youre thinking about a cutout....GET IT!

car seems to be east of 75 thats where i am at ...never checked out the guy ..just the car lol...looks like it has mods ...pretty quick...anyone have a slp loudmouth on their car???...its the exhaust i am looking at getting just wondering if anyone has one..

no its test and tune ....i dont think there is another 1320 night until next month ..of course i could be wrong ..but i do know its test and tune...is that still ok ???...i know that i am going ...my brother wants to run his GTP now its transmission is fixed...keep in touch ..bye for now ... ...

i'm going to have to cancel on coming home this weekend. i forgot the super bowl was this weekend (go Bucs!) and its still goiing to be pretty cold out. my main purpose of coming home for the weekend was to go to the beach w/ the friends there. so the next weekend it warms up and i have nothing i gotta do, i'll be there.
