Looks OK on the 2nd Gen... probably wouldn't look all that great on a 4th Gen. I've actually learned to like the shallow wheels that are available for the 4th Gens. Whenever I see one with a huge dish, I don't seem to like it any more. About a 3" lip is the max that looks good, at least to me.
I go back to the days when we "reversed" steel wheels by cutting the center out, and flipping the rim around so the deep dish was exposed and the shallow side was moved to the back. Put a set of "baby Moons" on a wheel like that and you were king. But the nostalgia thing doesn't seem to work on the newer cars.

way to big IMO, and they would look better in chrome. I agree 3" max...also depends on the size of the rim.

I see your point but beg to differ. I think this 4th gen T/A looks AMAZING with 18x12's on the rear:

I think if done with the right wheel, a deeper dish can look really good. I think that 2nd gen looks soso. It's on the edge of looking ridiculous. I do like conversations like this because I like to see what others find tastefull or distastefull.

a bit excessive and for a street car wouldn't last a week on detroit streets with the potholes. even going over a speedbump would wipe those things out.
the largest lip i've had on my car was 6" and i replaced 2 barrels the first summer before i changed the setup. sweet for a showcar, not practicle at all for any driving on a real street.
