Great interior. Turbo. 45 MPG. From Chevy. Interested?

Lots of info is leaking out about the next gen Chevy small car. It'll be produced at Lordstown Ohio in about a year. It will have a top notch interior at least as good as Malibu's. Will be available with a new Family Zero turbo 1.4L engine, with GDI and VVT.

And.....GM claims that with the turbo 1.4 and manual trans, there will be a 9 mpg gain over the Cobalt.

Anyone interested?

Actually I might be. I was hoping for GM to offer a smaller turbo 4 in the Malibu, but if they don't and the styling of the new Chevy small sedan is nice enough and the car is large enough, I might consider it.

I'd probably want the A6 though.

Price? Small car means it needs a small price.

What about the "mild-hybrid" setup were it stops the engine instead of idling, avalible?

BTW what is GDI?

I thought it wasn't going to be called Cobalt.

I read one article saying it would be priced slightly above Cobalt.

I'll be all over it so long as it'll be available by October 2009 (when my BMW lease is up) and isn't super hot to where dealers are marking them way up or some crap.

I wouldn't mind picking one up as a DD. It would be a nice complement to the 5th gen SS that will be sitting in my garage.

I'd check it out assuming the exterior looked good.

If it looks good, has good visibility and city mileage is also pretty high, then yeah, I'd be checking it out. With the way ga$ price is and with all the traffic, a small car is a necessity for everyday driving and parking, IMHO.
