I have been a member for a while, but I have not owned an F-body in about 5yrs. My wife however has a 2002 Firebird vert. 3.8L auto.
Last night she had the top down and when she put the top back up and roll the windows up the drivers side window would not move. The passenger side is fine.
I pulled the door panel today after checking the fuses and got a volt meter out. There is power leaving the window switch. I actually have a spare switch so I plugged it up just to make sure. I am thinking it is the window motor, but it did not give us any signs. It was pretty slow, but it wasnt any worse than any other F-body I have been in.
I read the shoebox tutorial, but when he started out the window was up. If I understand I can take the motor off and then manually raise the window up, but I am kind of scared to drill the rivets with the glass right behind it. Is there any other way, or do I just do it and be really careful?
