My Mosher gears whine bad, should they.

I had a set of Moser 4.10s install about a month ago and they whine pretty damn bad. My question is are Mosers prone to this? The place that installed them said before hand that they used Moser cause they werent as noisey but Im ready to go back to the stock 3.42s.

Which gears did you buy? The Pro Street or Competition? Because the Competition gears are racing gears, meaning they will whine. The Pro Street gears should be relatively quiet. If they are howling, then it sounds like the shop set up your gears bad, and they will fail prematurely.

Yea, sounds like they weren't setup properly. The 7.5" rear ends that are in our cars are VERY picky about being setup properly.

It doesn't have to do with the rear end at all, it's in the gears. Racing gears are meant to whine, but are built stronger. Street gears are built for performance, but without whining too much. And stock gears are built to be quiet, but at the expense of strength. And the quieter gears are meant to run is determined my the tolerances; smaller tolerance means quieter. But quiet gears are harder to setup than racing gears. And they usually cost more.
