Any recommendations on what headers to put on my 1991 305 vert. I just picked up the car?

No idea on name brand, but I wouldn't go any larger than with something that offered larger than 1 5/8 primarys.

What kind of headers are you looking at? Long, mid, or shorties?

What is the difference between long, mid and shorties?

Basically the longer the tubes, the more power you make. Longer tubes also move your torque range higher in the RPM band, although I still have tons of torque down low after my LT install.

Shorties are pretty much useless unless you are limited by smog laws. Mids are good if you have to worry about ground clearance and if your car isn't too heavily modified. Longtubes are by far the best, and will give you the most power.

Some brands have better ground clearance than others. I'm not sure about the 3rd Gens, but there are quite a few brand names that are popular with the 4th Gen community. Kooks are the best for LT1's, since they are stainless steel and last longer, but are expensive. Pacesetter is a popular brand, good bang for the buck. Both of those brands seem to tuck up very nice.

My performance shop is saying that because of the floor design, my only option on a 1991 camaro vert is shorty headers and that long tubes are not an option? Thoughts?
