v6 vs v8 brakes

Do they both use the same brakes?
Especially interested in the rear brake set up.

98 and later use the same brakes front and rear on v8 and v6 cars. They are different from the earlier cars. The front brakes are larger and use an aluminum 2 piston caliper. It is a popular swap for the earlier cars usually known as the LS1 brake swap. The rear brakes use a different parking brake setup, caliper and disc. The main gain in the rear is the better parking brake.

The 93-97 cars are the same in the front between v8 and v6. The 93 may use a slighty different caliper than the later cars but I'm not sure about that. The v8 cars use discs in the rear the v6 cars are drums. There was a performance option for the v6 cars in at least one model year that included the rear disc brakes. The front brakes on 93-97 cars use an iron single piston caliper and the disc is about an inch smaller than the 98 and later cars.

93s had different front disc brakes from 94-97s.

Rears on the early 4th Gen V6's were drums, not discs. There was an option for 4-wheel discs on the V6's.

Thank you very much for the info.
This really clear things up for me.
I'm trying to do the LS1 brake swap on my 67 Camaro in the front and LT1 brakes in the rear. See a lot of cars parting out so just wanted to know who would have the parts I need.
