Violent shaking from a dead stop on my 97' z28

i just had a new clutch kit installed on my 1997 z28 (lt1, t56) and i feel like im being taken to the cleaners by the mechanic. the problem is when i take off from a dead stop the car shakes... violently and in every gear after you can feel a little vibration throughout the car. i also put the car in neutral and barely touched my hand to the clutch pedal, you can feel some sort of vibration or shaking. he assures me this is normal, but theres just no way it can be. any thoughts or advice would really be appreciated fellas!
