2009 Malibu Maxx?

I thought this car was dead after the last generation, but in reading this thread

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=566767

and then playing around w/ this link...

If you select 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, one of the options is Malibu Maxx, up to MY2009. Has anyone heard of a Maxx coming back?

I've not heard anything about it. Doesn't seem very likely.

I would love to see a conventional Malibu wagon.

Considering how insanely busy the plants are that are building the Malibu right now, I seriously doubt it. My uncle has been working pretty extreme shifts recently and I don't see how they would have capacity for a Maxx.

This discussion makes me question how legitimate those "2009 Camaro colors" were.

Well they did build the car on the old Maxx's stretched platform...

I'd never thought about it w/ the new car, but a wagon version would be cool. Station wagon...its the new SUV.

According to Fbodfather, some of those will be on the new Camaro and there are some missing from that list that will be on it as well. The colors are for the plant, not the car only...once again...according to him.

They also have a 2009 Monte Carlo in the list - so it is obviously a generic list replicated to all the years.

Tell you the truth, with the recent influx of tall wagons, it wouldnt be too bad of an idea to bringback the Maxx.
You have the Rouge, which is a tall Sentra wagon. You also have the EX35, a tall AWD wagon version of the G35x
Several more wagon-esque type vehicles keep rolling out. I think that GM could get into the game with Epsilon II. A taller wagon version with AWD of the Malibu could probably sell at a decent clip. A nice 5 seater with 4 or 6cyl could compete well in the market. This could open up room for a larger 5 seater Equinox and then a 7 seater Traverse, all car based. Toyota had that Camry Wagon concept in LA didnt it? Forgot the name of it, but its sort of what Chevy could look into.

Toyota FT-SX concept

Not to hard to imagine something like this on a more conservative Camry-style body

I have read that an Aura wagon is due for 09, I dont doubt a a malibu wagon is in the works. Not like the Maxx though. The Aura wagon looked nice, I wish it was a little bigger. I'd like to drop my SUV.

I read that saturn expect to sell 50,000 units a year. Seems alittle optimistic, any thoughts?

Seeing as Saturn sold 59,964 Aura sedans last year, I would say that's very optimistic.

But I would certainly consider one. I love wagons - real wagons. They're as useful (if you're not an off roader) as an SUV while being more practical.

My wife drives a Vue, which is essentially a tall station wagon, but I'd like to have Aura handling for mine!
