Clutch fork problems

Ok, so six speeds inc. just got my tranny back to me and i installed it earlier tonight.. and i have had this trans out so many times in the last 2 years and finially i think i got someone to rebuild it right, except for 1 problem, i have a brand new clutch fork, hardly even 500 miles on it if that. Everytime i push the fork up to lock it onto the release bearing it falls back down, it simply wont stay and lock into place, is there anyway the clips on the fork could have possibly been damaged? or something i am missing?

i tried to hold it up onto the bearing as best as i could and install the slave cyl. but as soon as you apply pressure it pops off the fork and the fork falls back down... i dont know what else to try and getty pretty tired of R&R of the trans on this car.

Any suggestions are great.

The spring should hold on to the t-stud, which is what the fork pivots on. Take the t-stud off the tranny and slide it into the fork and make sure it engages right. If not, you might be able to bend the spring clip so that it does.

yeah i know how it works i just couldnt figure out why it would not stay on the bearing, i ended up just pulling it all back out and looked close and it seems that the clips were banging the side of the t-stud and not popping over it so i just bent them with some needle nose and all is good.

Six Speeds Inc did a real nice job on the tranny rebuild it drives and shifts like brand new, for once.

Thanks for your help.

No problem. Wasn't trying to insult your intelligence or anything, just being as helpful as possible . I got my tranny from Six Speeds Inc too. 1500 miles and working awesome! (knock on wood)

I had the same exact problem I ended up buying a new fork ($80) because my clip was bent and it could not be bent back to hold the clutch fork in the right way.
