Vacuum Canister behind Rear drivers tire
Its not a vacuum canister, its the charcoal canister for the fuel tank vent system. If you remove the EVAP components (line from the canister to the engine compartment, EVAP purge solenoid, line to the throttle body), there is limited use for the canister. It reclaims the vented fuel vapor so it can be burned in the engine using the purge system.
For my "track only" car, I removed the canister, and put a filter sock over the line from the fuel tank. That line still needs to be there to vent the pressure/vacuum in the fuel tank. You may notice an increase in fuel smell at the rear of the car.
