do it, do you have a stock stall if so you r not spraying off the line so i would not be worried at all.

the car has a 2200 stall, i have 3:42's right now.i'll must likely be running on 295/35/18's bfg drag radials.

it would be safer if you stuck with the 342s, i think itll last for a while but its only speeding up the inevidable..

the bigger issue is going to be rpm related ....I ran 4.10's in a T56 car and was turning 6500+ running 120mph traps...switched to a 4L60 and was only able to get 115 out of it at the same RPM.
Double check the RPM/Speeds you are planning on running.

Check out this site. http://www.f-body.org/gears/
I think you will more than likely run out of gear.

thanks for the help, would i really feel a difference going from 3:42's to 373's?...also the nitrous wont always be in use for any race, i just have it for back up..thats the reason why im leaning 4:10's..

I've got 4.10s with a stock 10 bolt, a 3200 stall, 150 shot, 325/15/50 MT DRs....previous owner trapped at 120 on the 1/4 mile..not sure where he was RPM wise. I think the taller tire helps a little with the 4.10s. We have a 1/8th mile here so no worries about running out of gear.

correct you are on a 28" tire...this is what is giving you the extra MPH.
I am running a 27" tire and 3.73's...that shoult net me ~140mph at 67-7000 depending on convertor slip

Is your trans stock?
You'll run out of gear if you don't use overdrive. Nothing wrong with that if you have faith in your tranny.

been there, did it. had to shift into 4th about 60-70 feet before the traps. this was on 26" tall tires. you would need at least a 28" tall tire to help that. 3.73 much better

dont put gears in a 10 bolt if you want to run fast and be reliable...i cut high 1.4x with 3.73 (hitting spray about 10 feet out) but missed out on the extra mph...now i swapped back to 3.42 and leave on 125 shot and ctill cut the same 60' and picked up mph....
