How do I know I have a 4 or 3 channel rear?
How do I know I have a 4 or 3 channel rear?
Ok I bought a '99 Z28 from a friend that had been wrecked in the past and had to have a rearend put in it. Well he went the cheap way and put a rearend out of and LT1 car in it. Well the other night dodging a kamakaze skunk on the way home from work I discovered that my rear ABS dosen't work.
My question is how do I know if I have a 3 channel or a 4 channel rearend? I know 4 channel has a TCS and I do have the TCS button on my dash but it never lights up.
I'm just gonna replace the whole rearend to fix this mess but how can tell by looking at a rearend if it's a 4 or 3 channel?

I believe the 3 channel has the abs sensor located on the top of the pumpkin on the center of the differential housing and the 4 channel abs has a sensor on each end of the axle tubes giving you one sensor for each wheel. What do you plan on doing with the rear end you currently have?
I'm fairly sure it's a 4 channel. My cousin said the axles in the original rear end had the teeth on the outer end of the axle.
I'm gonna take the rearend out and sell it. It's got a set of motive 4.10s in it and they have a very, very minimal hum.
