Infiniti rates the worst in low speed crash

For my buddy Robert... maybe I should go post this on some Nissan boards?

http://money.cnn.com/2007/08/01/auto...ney_topstories

"The vehicle sustaining the most total damage was the Infiniti G35, made by Nissan, which had total estimated repair costs of $14,000. In the straight-on front impact test alone, the G35 sustained $5,223 in damage."

Wouldn't that be considered quite rude?

Just watched that CBS news brief too eh?

I am not surprised by an Inifinite(Infinite can't be plural) costing so much to repair at any speed. They are expensive luxury cars, which means the manufacturer used low quality designs for damage taking.. Sounded odd. The car is built safe, but deisgned to crumble like a toothpick.

It's hard to make a car that is safe, strong, inexpensive and politcally correct.

Not surprising, insurance rates for those cars are high due to repair costs!

Is anyone here besides me wondering why they would include a Lincoln but not a Cadillac?

BMW 3-series fared relatively well. FWIW, insurance on my 300 hp 335i Coupe is $200 a year cheaper than my 2004 GTO was.

Repair costs are high on these vehicles but as to specific rates; they can be very different company by company; what you drive is only one part of the equation...my insurance costs on my 350Z and QX56 combined is only slightly more per year than the cost on my Z28 was alone.

What company you choose to go with can have a big impact on a person's cost; rates vary a great deal depending on each person's circumstances.
