295 tires on 17x9 ZR1 Wheels

Does anyone know if they will fit without a problem? Or should I just stay with the 275?

Thanks

Nick

I had Nitto 315s on a 9 inch wide wheel before. It looked and worked fine. Nittos run narrower than other tires, though.

Wow. I would think that would be tight but I guess not. Any idea if the tire itself would fit in a 97 SS?

The only 295/40-17 tire I am familiar with is the Kumho ECSTA V710 competition tire. Kumho recommends a wheel width of 10.0" - 11.5" for that size. There is also a Hoosier A6 and R6 competition tire in 295/35-17 and that will work with a wheel as narrow as 9.5", but that's only a 25.3" tire.

These aren't tires you would want to run on the street.

It was on my Camaro. I have 315/30/18s on a 9.5 inch wheel now.
