Which Cable?

I'm looking to purchase a cable in the next week or two and I had a few questions:

-The 2 places I have found that sell ODB1 cables are AKM & ALDLcables.com. The AKM piece is $40 more than the ALDLcable piece. Is there a tangible difference for the price disparity?

-Are there any issues with using a USB interface as opposed to the standard RS-232?

Thanks!

I'm using the AKM cable. I started with the serial cable and my old desktop and it worked fine. I used the usb trade in option and now I am using the usb cable with a laptop. It has worked fine also. The cables were shipped very quickly when I originaly bought it and when I changed to usb. I don't have any experience with other cables.

I just bought a ALDLcable, it works GREAT and comes with all the drivers and links to free software, and it's $40.00 cheaper. Mine is USB, just load the drivers and go.
