Weld Prostar 15x10 with 6.5" backspacing??

I bought these wheels off a friend of mine and he said he ordered them with the most backspacing he could get, which should be a 7.5". Well today when I was grinding down the calipers I had them mounted up and they look like they stick out a little too far. I measure the offset and they were a 6.5" to my knowledge.

He was running a 325/50/15 M/T Drag radial with no problem.

First off, do they make those in a 6.5" back spacing?? Then, since he was running a 325/50/15 with no rubbing issues, shouldn't I be able to run a 275/50/15 with no problems??

You need the 7.5" backspace to put the tire where this one is:

Yes, they make the 15x10" Pro-Stars in 7.5" BS, 6.5" BS, 5.5"BS, 4.5" BS etc.....

If they are sticking out 1" more than that, they aren't going to rub on anything inside the wheel well, but you run the risk of the fender lip coming down on the tread or sidewall of the tire.

Injuneer, that is what I was thinking. He didn't have any issues running a 325/50r15 M/T Drag radial on it and it never hit his fenders. He really didn't know the backspacing so when he ordered them he told them he wanted the wheels to sit in as far as they could go.

Hopefully I will get lucky and the 275/50 will work. Thanks!!

Are you still using the factory 7.5 rear? If so when you upgrade to a 12 bolt make sure you order it 1" narrower per side.

Yeah I'm still running the factory rear. BTW, I got the drag radials in (275/50R15) and mounted them on the wheels and got them on my car. They don't stick out any further than the ones in Injuneers pictures. I must have been measure the backspacing wrong or something. They don't rub and don't hit the fender lip.

BTW, they hook like a motha!!!! No spray launching at 3 grand with 30PSI and no burn out, they bogged the car down!! I can't wait to try it on the spray and get the gears in!
