1SlowFormula 04-13-2007, 11:44 AM I am going to head over to Atco because I hav never been there and a Racing series I am in is having an event there next week so I fugured I would check the track out...
Any pointers for someone who has never been there before. Such as: how is the track/pit area setup. Is it pretty self explanitory when you get there? Are there tech inspections on a street night? If so where is the inspection line? You know stuff like that where all tracks are a little different...
Thanks for any insight...

the track is great, i am right-lane partial, just superstition though, i have always had my best runs there. The only complaint I have is that you HAVE to hit the waterbox, but thats nothing a nice little cleanoff burnout cant fix.

Thanks for the heads up, I hate running through the water bow when there is no need, so that means all those front drive ricers are going to leve the place wet huh...:(
5SPDCHK 04-13-2007, 03:07 PM Ram Racing N/A and Heads Up series?
It’s self-explanatory for the most part. You’ll pay at the front gate and then follow the paved road around to the left. You’ll pass the tech booth on your way there. Some people tech in at that time and some people pit first and go back. Pit anywhere you see an open space. Try to pit near a PA speaker as it can be hard to hear the announcer. You can tune your radio to 87.9 (I think) to hear the announcements also.
;)

I used to be partial to the right lane but everyone else that runs in my class on Saturdays is too. I gave up trying to get to the lanes as quickly as possible to not be bumped into the left lane. My car seems to always pick up a ton when I'm bumped over there... it could be in my head but it has happened EVERY time I've been bumped. I now run the left lane so I KNOW I'll get my lane choice after 1st round.

Funny how that works isnt it. Almost seems like the left lane is slightly uphill or something with the way my times normally work out. All 3 of my cars I have had, I have always set my personal bests and beat my personal bests in the right lane. Left lane is like kryptonite for me haha.

If you are running with the street cars and not competing, you dont even have to go through tech. I have never had to at least.

Dumb question but competing in what? I am used to running Friday nights at Cecil where it is just street cars, is there some sort of nightly competition there or something?

I'm not 100% sure about friday nights, but when go on Tues and Thurs there is usually Gambler racing going on, or quick 8 IIRC. go to atcorace.com and see if they have any events tonight, I havent been down there on a friday in forever. Friday = drinking night for me :p
