I know this works and is possible on LS1's but does the 97 LT1 pcm have a singnal input from the EGR?

wideband output into EGR input?Tricked-Out-Toy 04-11-2007, 02:26 PM I know this works and is possible on LS1's but does the 97 LT1 pcm have a singnal input from the EGR? VinceTrifecta 04-11-2007, 02:39 PM Interesting idea! I consulted the wiring chart for the PCM on the LT1, and the only EGR related signal is an output which activates the vacuum solenoid to open the EGR valve. However, there are other inputs that might be used for this. The A/C system has a pressure sensor that I would think is an "ADC" input. You might also be able to use the transmission temperature sensor input. Tricked-Out-Toy 04-11-2007, 02:49 PM excelent options Ill see if I can track down those wires in the diagram. the AC input will prolly work the best. Ill have to see how it logs that in datamaster. SSQATCH 04-11-2007, 04:33 PM I have posted here and elsewhere but I have been using the oil temp input into the PCM to log fuel and oil pressure. I also built a converter to log a wideband output. It uses a microprocessor and converts the 0-5 volt output of the sensor or wideband into a signal the PCM can use. We then use a look-up table in the box to convert it to a usable value. For my box if datamaster says the oil temp is 39 degrees C, what it is really telling me is that it is 39psi. With a different table loaded my buddies converter box it will display 137 degrees F and what it is really telling him is that his AFR is 13.7. The oil temp is logged in datamaster just like everything else so it can be recorded and played back, graphed and monitored. Cool thing is that it also has the capability to wait for a particular value (say it goes lean or fuel pressure drops below a specified value) it can turn on a LED or sound a siren. Works well and you do not have to remove something that is working (such as the AC pressure) and it uses something that is there but not hooked up. TOM B Tricked-Out-Toy 04-11-2007, 04:42 PM do you sell this convertor? I dont have an OIL temp gauge in the thirdgen and I dont have the AC hooked up so that wasnt a big deal. I was hoping to find an input into the PCM that would accept the 5V ADC coming out of the wideband. I dont want to do alot of crazy stuff, id like to just connect a wire and be done :) steve9899 04-11-2007, 09:12 PM This is a well-covered topic. Try searching this forum and the PCM forum at impalassforum.com and you will find out what all the options are. | ||
