semi-unique exhaust thread

i just bought a trans am that has several exhaust leaks before the catback. the problem is i am not sure what to do to replace them. i would go pacesetter, but i am worried about them rusting out when daily driven through a massachusetts winter. i MIGHT be able to grab kooks, but i would barely be scraping by and would not be able to work on the other small issues for a while. are there any other stainless options that wont scrape? (SLP) or should i just fix/replace the stock system until i can afford kooks? post up your reasoning.

Make sure you get them coated. It will make them last a lot longer. Around 400 for a coated set.

My Pacesetters started rusting in less then a years time. This is on a car that never sees rain or snow and is seldom driven. If I were to do it over again, I would have spent the extra money and went with Kooks, no question.

coated pacesetters. wash em every so often and make sure there is no salt staying on them

if you can afford them now, and your other problems arent too serious, get the Kooks. my pacesetters did the same as 2000gtp's and they havent even been on a year.

turns out it was rubber that had melted on the exhaust and the previous owner thought it was a leak. thanks anyway
