1987 IROC LT1/T56...incomplete swap..

Im guaging interest here, so dont get too excited yet.

I started the LT1 swap and have not completed it. The motor and tranny are in the car, but for some reason, it's not working. I was told the motor had 99k on it. The exterior looks great at 15ft + but a closer look reveals a cheap paint job. It NEEDS to be repainted, but still turns heads. Car is blue in color.

Here's what I have:
LT1- 94 Camaro - (I paid $1100 for the drivetrain)
T56 - ^
Painless Wiring Harness-NEW ($600)
Hooker LT's Ceramic Coated -NEW($600)
New Opti - MSD cap + Rotor- ($250)
New MAF ($200)
Clutch Master - NEW ($45 i think)
Clutch Slave - NEW (^ i think)
Torque Thrust II's 17 X 8

Everything is in the car, and bolted down, but I cant get it to work. It may be something simple and small, it may be something larger and in need of a new engine. I honestly dont know. I've tried everything I could think of. The car cranks, sputters, and dies. The interior is in real good shape. No cracks in the dash, carpet could be replaced, but looks okay. I have a 6-speed shifter plate for it, and the seats are 4th gen charcoal cloth. I also have the original LB9/700R4 intact. It ran when pulled.

Obviously I have alot of money tied up in it, so, even though it isnt running, I could get alot of it back out of it. I would be willing to take a cut by selling it whole rather than part it out, but dont low ball me too bad. Make me an offer as to what you believe it's worth, and I will consider it. Remember, I have not decided to sell the car just yet, I'm simply gauging the interest in it. Thank you.

I'm sure you've visited www.thirdgen.org and been to there LT1/LS1 swap forum. They were a huge help when I did the same swap.

Apparently you have to have the vats disabled in the PCM before trying to get the car too run

If you were local, I'd prolly offer 2k or so for it

good luck

send me an email as to what all you have tried and I will look at it and see if I can offer any advise. It sounds very simple like said above, the VATS needs disabled. You can have it programmed out for very cheap as well.

Run good or run like crap? There was one time, for some reason, when I cranked it, it actually ran. Not good, but it ran. I havent been able to do that again. I dont know. Maybe I'll try to get it programmed out of the computer.

You might get lucky and find someone that just wants the drivetrain.
I ended up selling my 86 Trans Am with an incomplete LT1/T56 swap back in 03/04 for $5K.
My friend wanted only the drivetrain and suspension components.
95 B-body LT1 with alum heads, 96 T56, 93PCM and harness, 95 B-body PCM and harness, cc306 cam, 24lbs Accel injectors, Spec Flywheel, Deltec box, KYB agx front struts, complete LS1 rear with 4.10 gears, spohn T56 x-member with torque arm, BMR panhard, BMR Wonder Bar and some other misc things.

Car was still in parts (motor was in the engine bay), so we just tossed everything into the car (tranny and everything not attached to teh car) and he towed it away.
