Im fairly certain that these are what I want to get, but want some input from you guys. My car is strictly street driven and the stock shocks are currently on there and have 120k on them and are a little worn out, so I want something that will be a good replacement shock. Is there anything out there that will do that better for me? Also, what vendor typically has the best price on the set?

 

I have them and love them. Then again, I probably love them because I've never had anything better. I'm sure Koni's are much better for performance, but I was on a budget and the car is daily driven.

They do a much better job of dampening the stock springs. The ride will stiffen up a bit, and your car will have much better body control. I'd reccomend them as the best bang for the buck out there.

 

I think Bilstein HD's would be a good choice given what I see. HOWEVER, there has been a change to the rears that isn't good. I can get you Bilstein's for the same price ($349/set), but with a more appropriate rear shock. The ones you'd get buying the HD's in the catalog have had more compression added and rebound taken away... making them much more like the DeCarbon's the car has stock, which suck.

I don't know why Bilstein did this, but it was completely ignorant. The car rides worse and isn't as well controlled as with the previous valving.

Again, price is the same, still Bilstein's. Just a different valving on the rear shock.

 

Given the EXACT same car with the only difference being the shocks, what would the difference in ride feel like between stock DeCarbons or Bilsteins?

 

I would listen to Sam and would recommend getting them from him too. As for the ride it would be much more controlled without being any more harsh than stock.
